Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Kelli....great news about the filming at the hospital...good luck tomorrow. I can't wait to hear all about it! You are right...no big deal, b/c it usually takes people coming over for a major over haul or cleaning and organizing to be done...oh or being very close to your due date...LOL...
As for me ladies...I had another great shower. I'm very fortunate, I know. I liked the 2 smaller showers as opposed to 1 great big one. I got to mingle so much with people and just enjoy the celebration of Jenna almost being here...it was so nice I got a lot of stuff too...the umbrella stroller, organizing pink baskets, diaper organizer, baby gate, bottles, bibs, clothes, video monitor, mobiles, growth chart, blankets, mustella products, gift cards, books, grooming supplies, swing, diapers, DH diaper bag, sheet savers, floppy seat and lots of returns. I should have enough in returns and gift cards to finish up just a couple things that were left on the registry. I added a couple more things to the registry tonight, b/c I have that 10% off coupon you get from BRU to use after your baby shower to purchase anything left on your registry.

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Sorry girls we have been away visiting family...
Kelli- Well at least your house is clean...
Stacy- Glad you guys had a nice trip even though DH and Amelia got sick.
Erica- You sound really busy. I am sure you are handling it like a pro
Janay- Keep us posted on what you decide to cycle
Stacie- Have you gotten lots of snow?
Lisa- Glad that Benjamin is doing better. for weight loss!
 to everyone else!
Well we just got back yesterday from visiting family so I am trying to get myself together. DH needs a new tire on his car (it leaks and needs air every couple of days so it is almost flat) so he took my car. I just realized there is no food in my house...he makes me so made!
I am hoping to finish up the nursery in the next couple of weeks. I am not having a baby shower but I am still going to register for things since one of my friends pointed out that otherwise I will end up with lots of stuff I do not like. I am thinking we will have a party once the baby is born (my family believes that having a party before the born is bad luck).

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
V..ugh! about the car girl...I have a friend who's family also believes no baby shower before baby. For her 1st baby she never had a shower/party at all...but for this 2nd baby, the threw her a shower the day before her Csection, but none of the stuff was brought home till after baby came home I agree with your friend...b/c you are going to be getting gifts one way or another, so you might as well be getting stuff you really want.

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Where is everyone?
Chrissy- I just noticed that you C-section is already scheduled. I can't believe it is so soon! Jenna will be here before we know it.
So now I am trying to figure out what I need before the baby actually comes. We have the crib and changing table set but but I need bedding. I will need a car seat. What else should I have before the baby comes? I know the list is probably endless but I thought I would ask... Maybe the better question is what could you not live without during the first month.

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Hi all! Yay for a new thread!
Kelli, How'd the interview go?
Chrissy, Sounds like some great goodies!
V, I'll have to think about it, but off the top of my head, we used our bouncy seat right away because Amelia was spitting up so much that I was afraid to have her sleep flat on her back. So I put the bouncy seat in her pack n play, which was in our room. She didn't sleep in her crib for several months. I suppose you could use the carseat for her to sleep in if you ran into a similiar issue. With that said, we needed burp cloths for tons of spitup. If you have a V delivery, you are supposed to take baths to help you heal. I didn't know that and our bathtub wasn't ready. You can sponge bathe the baby at first due to the cord stump being there; so that's not much of an issue of immediate need. We did use newborn size diapers for a few weeks and Amelia was average size at birth (7 lbs 14 oz). I'll think some more.
Hope everyone is doing well! I have an OB appt tomorrow and have to find a sitter. I'm kind of cranky right now. Been eating a ton of junk and can't seem to get enough. Not good.

V...I know...it's crazy! Hmmm...girl I don't have any good advice...as I just bought everything b/c I didn't know what I would need. I'm looking forward to reading the answers you get and have got already.
Stacy...hope you found a sitter...and that tomorrow brings a better day
As for me...I hit up BRU for everything else I needed. I have a couple more things to get and I'm done! Wahoo

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
V...hmmm...let me think. Definately a swing like Jen said...great for naps and Owen still uses his. I'd say a Pack N play but I have 2 (one for downstairs and one for upstairs)...I thought I'd use the one downstairs for Owen to sleep in during the day but he hates it. He can't sleep if he's either not swaddled or sleeping on me (another that I would definately suggest...don't hold them all of the time for naps...I done that a lot and he's so used to it that the minute I lay him down during the day, he wakes up. He sleeps good at night though..Ok...I'm rambling!). I'd definately get a diaper pail of some kind...I have a Diaper Genie 2 but I know some people prefer different brands. The only other thing I can suggest is that sometimes you get too much stuff and don't use half of it! It all depends on the baby and what they like and don't like, I think. You just never know until you get them home and try everything out so save your receipts and boxes...you may want to return stuff after the baby is here!
Chrissy...so what did you get at BRU!?
Stacy... for the appt tomorrow!
WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE????? IT"S TOO QUIET AROUND HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
Interview went well. They interviewed DH and I individually and then as a family about our experience with telemedicine and how it had an affect on us. They then did a mock situation using Owen to show how they would be able to communicate between the hospitals using a broadband connection and camera to show the baby and view his labs, x-rays or other tests he had done and decide what to do. The whole interview and mock demonstration will be put on video tape and will be shown live to Congress and other invited guests at a meeting on January 30th. The video tape will then be available for hospitals around the country to purchase and view so that they can see how telemedicine will have an impact on their hospital and the patients they serve. To date, by using the telemedicine, our local hospital and Children's hospital have saved 84 patients (babies just born) from having to be transferred over an hour away and taken from their moms to be evaluated. Those babies were treated and released from our hospital after being evaluated via broadband connection at Children's. Overall, I think it's a wonderful thing to have been a part of.
Owen, on the other hand, is totally off schedule (I didn't realize how much of a schedule he was on until after yesterday). With all of the time spent at the hospital, he missed his naps and a feeding and when we finally went home, he was exhausted and ended up sleeping for about 4 hours. He finally woke at 11pm last night to eat and it was every three hours from there. Today has been better but I was completely exhausted!

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Hey there, everybody! Got the boys down early and I already had everything done as far as the house is concerned, so I have some time! YAY!!
V - HMMM, My mind is a blank! I pretty much am in agreement with the other ladies. But, you should get some things for YOU, too. Things for nursing, bra, cream if needed, breast pads and all the other stuff that you won't be able to leave the house for at the drop of a hat (cuz those days are about over!). Peyton and the twins used the swing(s) right away. Peyton was done with hers around 6mos (her decision, not mine!) and the boys are still in theirs. I'd just say to stock up on diapers and possible formula for supplementation if needed. You're almost there, sweetie!! The boys and Peyton were all in the crib right away because I was in need of sleep, too. The monitor picks up any possible noise (and you have the visual one, too!) so you'd wake up with your mom-dar. I used the pack n play more this time for changings and some naps. The other one in the basement is where I have all of Peyton's oversized balls that she loves to play with.
Chrissy - How was your shopping trip? I was just there on Sunday. I try not to go because I'd buy that place out (that and Target!). Had to get Peyton a night light and some new bibs for her and the boys.
Stacy - Best of luck tomorrow! Let us know the scoop!
Stacie - Where are the new pics and how is the adorable kitty?
Kelli - I hope the schedule snaps back, soon! Poor Owen! Sounds like the interview went well! I wish I could see it!!!!!!! Love the new pic of Owen, gosh, he's cute!!
Not much here! Did I mention that DH's car needed fixing and then my freaking oven broke Friday before Xmas? AND, I was having the holiday! UGH! It was a crazy expensive weekend! Thankfully DH and I didn't exchange because I'd be feeling really selfish about now! The diet is now going slow. Down 27 total and at a standstill. I'm within the healthy range for my height and age, so I think my body is happy. Well, that doesn't mean that I am. HA! Will be joining the new Y a few minutes away ($60 family membership with FREE daycare for 6mos and up) and we'll go from there. Have to go to the playgroup tomorrow. I'm SO tired, lately. Peyton has been sleeping crappy. Thought she was afraid of the dark, so she's got a new night light. Worked for a few days and now she's back at it - wakes up very upset which leads to a temper tantrum which sometimes wakes the boys and it's making me nuts! I think it's her 2yr molars, so I guess we'll wait it out. Took her to the doc on NY Eve because I thought it was an ear infection, but I was wrong, she's fine. Okay, I have to pump and get to bed!
 to everybody!

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Kelli- The interview sounds like it went really well. Hopefully Owen is back on his schedule!
Chrissy- So what did you get at BRU?
Jen- Great to hear from you!
Erica- As usual you have more energy than I do to get things done! It is amazing how everything breaks at one time!
Stacy- Can't wait to hear about your OB appointment! I can't believe you are already 24 weeks!
Well it looks as though everyone uses their swing. My sister actually has her swing in the attic but it is old now so I figure I will pull it out and see if it works. I guess I better make a list of things I need before the baby and then hopefully everything else people will get me.
DH found a jogging stroller that he fell in love with- BOB Revolution. The stroller is really cool but we can't use that for the first couple of months. I am actually hoping we could use this as our full time stroller once the baby is big enough since it folds up and also the front well can swivel or lock in place. I am thinking about getting the Snap N Go Stroller for the infant seat since I don't want to deal with a big travel system.
The other big news is that DH finally felt the baby kick !

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Kelli...glad the interview went well...bummer about Owen being so off schedule.
Erica...ugh! the stove...so annoying...good idea about the Y that's awesome about the childcare there. I wonder if there is a place around me that does the same. I hope Peyton starts sleeping again.
V...that's great DH felt baby, yeah! My sister used the snap and go and loved it.
Ohh ladies it was an expensive day at BRU yesterday..I spent $500...what did I get: humidifier, bibs, spit clothes, medicines, baskets, carseat savers, rattles, St.pattys day outfit for DH, teething rails, coffee table bumper, monitor, nail files, boppy cover, breast feeding pump accessories (membranes, valves, shields, storage bags and bottles), shade for stroller, sheet savers for pack-n-play, Mustella diaper creams, bottles, caps and bottle brushes, drying rack and I think that's it. I'm sure I'm forgetting something
Our wedding anniversary was on Monday, so DH took me out to dinner last night to my favorite restaurant in the whole world. It's an hour away, where we grew up in New Jersey...yummy...we usually make it there 1 or 2 times a year.

Kelli, Glad the interview went well! I remember hearing about telemedicine back in a previous job of mine and thinking it was such a great tool.
V, Glad your DH got to feel movement finally! So fun!
Erica, Sorry about the car and oven. I hate it when unexpected things hit and all at once. You're doing so well with your weight loss! I'm impressed!
Chrissy, Happy Anniversary! Glad you had a nice dinner! Sounds like you are all set for Jenna to arrive now! Yay!
Hi to all! My OB appt went well. Just one of the fast ones. Next month I have to do the glucose test. Icky! Amelia fell when my stepmom was watching her while I was at my appt and got road rash on her face from the road. Looks bad but she said she only cried for a few seconds.

Re: IVF Chatty Thread-Horray..we made it to a new thread!
Hi ladies - it’s been a long time.....
I really miss all you guys, but things have been so hectic it is hard to find time to come on here much anymore. My new job's roles and responsibilities have changed over the last two months and now I am working all the time and even quite late many nights. I do not like it! I like the job, just not the amount of work.
We are doing really well. Jack is so awesome and fun to be around. Everyone continues to comment how "active" he is, as I always thought. :duh He just never seems to tire during the day, but the good news is that he always sleeps well at nap time and night time.
He is getting ready to move up into another room at daycare starting Monday. It is bittersweet as I know he really liked the room he was in, but he is too "old" for the other kids in the room and it is time for him to move on. So he has been visiting the new room and I think he likes it. We have been doing some part time potty training. On the weekends we have him without a diaper on most of the morning, although that has not lead to any major successes. Last weekend he spent the night at my Dad's house and when we went and picked him up in the morning they proudly recalled how he went POOP in the potty the day before, I was like WHAT???? Good grief he goes poop for the first time on a big potty at their house? Nice. So anyways....back to the new room at daycare.....Every time they do a diaper change they put the kids on the potty to get them used to it so that should help my cause -- or at least I am hoping.
We had a great Christmas. Jack was cool with Santa, but he was even more cool with opening all the presents. On Christmas morning we had my mom, step dad, sister and BIL over. After breakfast DH dressed up like Santa and snuck out of the garage door without any seeing (although I knew this was going on....) and he walked around the house and knocked on the back door. Everyone was like OMG!!! Hahahah, it was so funny. So I told Jack to go open the door and let Santa in. So he did, he was sorta mesmerized but also a little hesitant to get too close to Santa. It was so cool to see all that and he had NO idea it was DH.
New Year's Eve was my birthday. 34.....ugh. Yep, another year older. At least I don't feel older yet. We are so lame nowadays so we just went to Ruth Chris (yummy) and then came home. I was happy to be in bed at my normal time, 11 - we did not even ring in the New Year. Fine by me....
So here we are at a new year and I am optimistic it will be a good one. I love everyday that I get to spend with Jack, he just brings so much joy to me and DH. Whenever I need to smile I just give him a little tickle and his laugh brings an instant smile to my face.
I am glad you all are doing good.
Chrissy - you are so close. I am excited for you to deliver soon.
Janay - that is so great you are cycling again. I know this time it will be it!
Erica - You have done great on WW, don't be so hard on yourself. Getting to the Y will be a nice break for you.
Stacy - sorry about Amelia's face. Poor girl. You have a name yet for the baby?
Stacie - thanks for checking in on me. I hope the job situation improves soon. That cat picture is so cool. How is the cat getting along with the others?
Kelli - wow, Owen is so cute. Glad the taping went well, that is cool you got to do that.
Jenn - how are you doing?
Jen - how are the boys?
Liz - how is Laurel?
V - I loved the swing. Jack was in it all the time. We also really liked the baby papasan (bouncer) He slept in that his first 3 months. He spit up a lot so it helped having him sleep slightly upright. We also really liked the swaddleme blankets. Have fun shopping!!
I will try to post some newer pics soon. AND I will try to post more often!!
