IUI Tomorrow and have 5 Follicles

Hello Everyone,

I am very new to this board. My name is Mina I am 31 years old and have been TTC for 3 years. I recently had laproscopy to remove Stage 4 Endometriois. Hubby and I are going for our first IUI tomorrow 2/26. Took 50mg Clomid and Ovidrel shot last night. I went yesterday for my consult and DR told me I have 5 great follicles when people usually only have 2. Said chances for multiples like 3 or 4 are very high. Of course I am totally freaking out but excited that at least I got some positive news. I am also really scared that IUI won't work. Any success stories with multiple follicles.

I'm basically new here too, I just haven't been posting much. I had my first IUI done earlier this month, but unfortunately it didn't work, it was unmedicated so I kinda figured it wouldn't. I also have Endo, stage 3. Good luck wand hope everything went great with your IUI

I just wanted to let you know that 5 follies are GREAT!!! When I got pregnant with DS I only had one and when I got Pregnant this time I only had 2.....So I think you odds are looking REALLLLLY good....Sending you tons of my baby and bfp VIBES!!!!!!!!

Hi Mina,

I did my 1st IUI yesterday, and my 2nd IUI today. On Sunday the doctor said that I had 7 follicles 4 on the left and 3 on the right. I think I may have O'ed 3 of them. How big were your follies? That also will help to determine how many of them you will likely O. As far as having multiples, I was concerned about that too, but my doctor says that I have a less than 1% chance of having 3 or more. The sperm concentration is also a factor in conceiving multiples.

I had multiple follies, 2 lead, 1-21 and 1-19 with a whole bunch of size 16's when I conceived Twins, I lost one in the first trimester but I have a very healthy almost 2 year old from that!

Mina,

With my daughter, they almost cancel the cycle because I had so many follicals, but I was lucky with only one baby.

With my last IUI this month I had about 8 follies, 4 on each side. I just got a

today so I will go for an u/s sometime next week and find out how many babies there are.

Sorry I missed this. The follies sound great! The girls are right in that they probably won't all be ready and get fertilized. So how is it going for you now? Feeling anything?

I had at least 2 leads at 20+ and 4-5 15-17's each cycle and only got 1 BFP with a singleton so I think it is common and not all follies contain an egg so hopefully you will see only 1 or 2 babies if this is your BFP month! I couldn't imagine 3 or more!!!
