Default Iui low numbers

Well I had my IUI today. I was rather bummed when I left. I guess miracles can always happen. The numbers before my IUI were 4-5 million. The doctor told me that they like to see 11 million at least. I had it done but my doctor suggested waiting till my husband is back in August to use fresh sperm instead of frozen. Which is okay, but even with fresh we have a low count... But keeping my fingers crossed.

Take care, Heidi

I am so sorry, remember it only takes one. What are his counts like when you guys your a fresh sample? When you freeze do you lose some sperm when they go through the thaw?

Thanks for your kind words... I am not sure exactly what it does to the numbers, the doctor said it does something though... My husbands count is a little low, I think when we got pregnant before it was 11 million which was good though. Take care, Heidi

Oh Heidi....I'm sorry you had low numbers. I'm hoping that the one little swimmer reaches the egg though, not all hope is lost just yet! Please try to stay positive and stay busy in your 2ww, we're ALL cheering you on sweetie.....

p.s. I know this is easier said than done, but try your best and keep marching forward!!

Take care..

When I had my IUI's in March. We had a decent number the for the first one. However the doctor said once you are over 3 million the odds are all the same.

My 1st 2 IUIs last year had counts of 5 and 6 million and that was donor swimmers, so when i went in for try 3 I asked that they use 2 vials and I got a count of 13 million. And that worked, so you might suggest that your DH donate more and use serveral vials to get a better chance.

but do remember that it takes only one good swimmer to make it to the target.

good luck

I'm living proof that a pg can happen with low #'s in an IUI. Pre-wash his numbers were only 5 million. Post-wash they were only at 3.5 million. I got my on my first IUI so it can happen.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks so much for the encouragment guys. I guess we will see in 2 weeks! I did use 2 vials and that was what they got with it. Maybe when my dh gets home it will be better, but we do have male fertility factors even with fresh sperm. But it worked twice so hopefully it will work again. Thanks again for posts, Heidi
