Default insurance???

Does anyones insurance cover any of the infertility treatments? Ours does not, doesn't even cover diagnostics to find out why. The reason I ask is we are ttc#2 and are on iui#2. DD was our blessing in the first iui try last time and I hoped it would be that easy this time too. Our RE lets you try 3 iui's and then sends you on to ivf but we can't afford the pricetag and the nearest clinic is 3 hours away. Sorry guys, I'm just losing hope I guess to give DD a little bro or sis. Any ideas?

Since your RE only does 3 IUI's before moving on I would suggest trying Injectibles rather than Clomid, you will produce more follies that way and will have a better chance.

our insurance covers all of it. depends on which state you live in--I'm in MA--and mass-based insurance providers cover all fertility treatments. We had to swtich from my company's insurance provider (which would only cover $3000 lifetime for fertility) to my husband's insurance provider in order to get the coverage.

good luck to you!

We have Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Minnesota. They cover infertility up to a lifetime maximum of $10,000. The IUIs are cheaper and for us it makes sense to keep doing them since IVF is so much more expensive. All of our medication is covered too through Medco. Good luck with your journey and your decisions.

My insurance covers nothing. But I agree w/ Jen, you should maybe do injectibles instead. I never got pg on Clomid or Femara alone, but w/ injectibles 2 IUI's have been successful. See siggy.

I wish you luck. Let us know how it goes....

Thanks ladies, I'm in Wisconsin and they pay nothing. Also, we can't do injectables either....I'm already producing 4+ follies with just the clomid. I allready asked to be bumped up on meds but was told they couldn't "ethically" do that with the chance that so many would take and I already signed the "no selective reduction" forms. I have one week left to wait. Maybe this is it and I won't have to worry about it! Thanks ladies!
