Default injectible cost?

Hi, I was just wondering if I ever have to go to injectables (besides the trigger)... how much does this usually cost? I think my insurance doesn't cover anything more than clomid and my trigger shot. Just curious if I have to go that route.

Take care Heidi

I just got 300 units of Follistim today for $415 at my RE's office. This will cover 5 days at my dosage and he thinks it will be enough but who knows. This is my first round with injectables so I am not sure how it will go.

My dr. prescribes repronex (not sure the exact doseage) that I inject every evening cd 5-9 and when I first started it was roughly $500 but apparently one of the perks (heh, as if) of being a return customer at the mail-order pharmacy I use they give you a discount. My story and number of injectibles cyles I've done is in my signature. This last round it was only $350. Hopefully you don't have to go that route but if you do, it's not that bad. Very quick and usually painless unless you go slow and the injectibles made a world of difference in the size and number of follicles I produced.

If I remember right I paid roughly $400-600 for all of my Menopur and my Ovidrel trigger. Other than my first cycle I needed double doses, so twice the number of vials. My insurance covered nothing as well.

Injectibles is the only way I got pg in '07, and I had many good follies!

I am taking Menopur right now and it's $54.99 a vial. Right now I am taking 3 vials a day. I usually do 2 a day but my dose went up today. Last round I did 23 vials total over 11 days! It takes my body longer to respond to the meds for some reason. Most people don't have a run that long. It seems like we are spending $300-$500 every 3-4 days! But I got 4 real good follies last round. Let's pray it works this time.
Good Luck Ladies!

Since my insurance does not cover injectables either, I priced around. I even researched ordering from Canada and Freedom was the cheapest I found. if you are self pay, they give you a discount and for menopure it was $59.50 per vial. They are really nice too and overnight the meds to you. Good luck this cycle!
