Icon5 Im new with ?s

Hi
I am new to this board. I just had my first IUI on Friday and I have some questions.

I have PCOS and I have been taking 2000mgs of metformin. This cycle I took 150mgs clomid, ovidrel, and the metformin. I went in to the RE's office on cd14 to check ovaries. I had one follicle of 21. That night I gave myself the ovidrel and came back on Friday cd16 for the IUI. The RE told me that I might have a little spotting and cramping. Well, I did not have any of that.
Saturday I started to get sharp ovary pains that evening and they have been on and off ever since. Is that normal??

My other question is... When does the ovidrel go out of your system so I dont get a false positive? My RE told me to test on 14dpiui but I am excited and would like to test as soon as I can!!

Alyssa... and

Yup, normal for pains in or around ovary area during Ovualtion, IUI or IVF. The Ovidril is usually out of most woman within 10 days. I tested way early 2 months ago and got a positive...turned out it was the shot...ugh!!! I woujld wait till 10piui... Also, you could always test right now and watch the Ovidril leave your system with the line getting lighter and lighter...then you'll know it's out for sure and then you can test whenever you want for your BFP!! I'm going to do that this cycle...A lot of woman do that

Hi Alyssa and welcome!

The pain you are describing is completely normal. Your ovary was most likely releasing the egg at that time. So that's a good sign!

The Ovidrel should be out in 10 days from trigger, but I do know lots of ladies that test sooner to make sure the trigger is out and it comes up neg before 10 days.

Hope my answers helped a little. Feel free to jump on here when you have any other questions or concerns. The ladies around here are a wonderful support system!

Hope you get your bfp very soon!

Hi and Welcome!
It would be good to know when the meds are out of your system so when you do get your BFP, you'll know it's real and be able to be 100% excited about it!!!!

I can only speak for myself, but I found it heartbreaking for me to test a few days early and get a BFN and then have to test again in a day or two, only to see another BFN. It was MUCH easier (again, this is just me) to test 14 dpiui and just get it over with all in one shot.

Hope you get that BFP super soon!!!!!!!!!!!
