how many iuis?

We have been TTC for 8 years. We had 6 rounds of iui in 2003. We are now on round 2 using ds. What I want to know is how many iuis did you all do before moving on?

Hello and welcome! Personally I was seeing a dr at firs who "dabbled" in infertility issues. He was an ob/gyn, not an RE. I saw him for 4 yrs. w/ no results. We had only 2 iui's w/ him though due to financial reasons. On my first iui w/ new RE got pg right away, but sadly m/c. On iui #2 it was bfn, but #3 I got pg, but m/c again. We are doing #4 this week.

If you don't mind my asking, what is your diagnosis?

Hello- I am on my 5th month of Femara and my 4th on ovidrel with IUI and was wondering the same thing so I asked at my follie scan yesterday and the nurse said that I would most likely move onto injectible meds if the 6th cycle on Femara didn't work, but there was no mention if the iuis would continue. I am going back tomorrow to check the progress, so I will ask then.
So this month and next month I need to try extra hard (like we could try any harder???) b/c I don't like giving myself a shot once a week, everyday would stink.

When we did the iuis in 2003 we used nothing other that OPK's for the first 3 cycles then 50mg clomid and OPK's for the last 3. This was at Dartmouth. This time around we are going to Montreal Fertility Clinic and we are doing 100mg clomid, being checked by internal ultrasound at cd 3, 11 and 13. Shot of Ovidrel on the 13th and the iui on the 15th. That is the cycle for the past 2 times anyways. We were told that after 3 they would move on to the injectables. All my tests have been good, my husband has 0% morphology therefore need a donor.

Well, I haven't moved on yet. My RE's protocol is 4 IUIs with Clomid then on to injectibles and IUI for 3 rounds. After that she says we would need to start considering IVF if we are comfortable with it. I don't have any specific fertility problems except age. I think protocol depends on what your particular issues are.

Hi, I got pregnant with my first IUI (we had a double) and I only had one follicle. I was shocked it worked. Unfortunately I had a stillborn son at 38 weeks this year so now I am back again.
I was on 50 mg clomid and gave myself a trigger shot. I have mild PCOS and husband has motility problem.
