HELP! Pregnancy, PCOS and Progesterone
I was on this board when TTC with my son, but I can't get my Username and PW to work so I had to create a new name.
Question?? With my first son I went through a year of fertility treatments. I ended up getting pregnant through Femara/IUI/HCG shot. They would always start me on progesterone supps whether I was preggo or not. I stayed on them until 16 weeks with my son. I have PCOS and I also have a bicornate uterus, I also was always overweight. 10 months ago I had weight loss surgery and lost 100 pounds! My husband and I have been careful but I did not think I could get pregnant without help. Well one time and BAM. IM PREGNANT! I would be 4 weeks as of yesterday. I found out at 12po with 3 tests and then went to doctor and they did a blood test. I begged her to put me on the prog because of fear of m/c. She got me set up with a high risk OB on Tuesday and said to ask her about the progesterone. The results came back and at 12po my HCG was 44 and my prog was 10.4 I took a test yesterday morning and the line had darkened so that made me feel better. The girl that I saw was a P.A and I don't think she knew anything about prog levels or pcos or pregnancy for that matter. My question is, do you think that I will be ok til tuesday? They have that progesterone you can get at the health food store I could get to use until then? Or should I go to ER?Are my levels good? The PA said that because I lost the weight my body did what it was supposed to, and it knows what to do. But I am obviously fearful. I have never had a miscarriage, but most people have not before they do.
Any help would be appreciated!
thanks,
Sheridan
PS: Anyone with worries about the weight loss surgery and pregnancy. I stopped my loss about 2 months ago. and I had the sleeve done, so I have no issues with malabsorption or a lapband or anything. the baby will get all the nutrition it needs.
