Dr's New Plan DIDN'T work & Husband has pneumonia!!!!

I am so discouraged today. My doc had this grand new plan, to stop me from making like 10 Mature Follies!! Well, it didn't work...I took Clomid for 5 days, and NOTHING!! I was only 1 mm ahead of my baseline scan. So he said I could cancel, or I could begin my regular 112IU of Follistim like every other month. And then my DH went to the hospital b/c he wasn't feeling well. And he has pneumonia!!! My doc said it shouldn't interfere with the cycle??!! I am not really sure how that is when he can't get out of bed.

I am sooo tired, I forgot how tired the Follistim injections make me. I yawn all day long, and I can fall asleep at like 7pm on the couch.

I would get alot of mature follies too. I did clomid just like you then I did follistim. The follistim should get those follies going. When I did the combo i got 6 and 7 mature insead of my usual 12-20. So it worked not like we wanted but it worked. Just watch your dosage on the follistim and pay attention to you body. I could always tell if I was getting too many follies. Keep and eye on your cm.

Dani-What should I look for with CM? I have never watched for CM with an IUI cycle, but I have noticed a lot of it the last couple of days.

Well I would get way too much as early as cd 7 or 8. Once I remember vividly....I was taking a shower and washing down there and notice it to be extra slippery. I called and told the RN and she had me come in for b/w right away. My number was really high. My first cycle I got 1 follie...taking only 50 IU's of follistim. So she upped my dose my next cycle to i think 100 something. I got way too many follies and I think my IUI was cancelled. We tried different doses and sometimes I would get too many follies or sometimes my e2 wouldn't go up enough. I was all over the board.

Why arte you taking follistim anyway? I'm curious because I have PCOS. I'm just wondering if women with PCOS are the ones who over respond.

Hi Dani!!

I have not been diagnosed with PCOS. I have 1 tube that may/may not work. There was some "pooling" of the die on my left side during my HSG. So my doc decided that she would try to make me ovulate on the right side, and Clomid wouldn't give her enough control to do that. However, both cycles I have had mature follies on both sides. I think I blocked the pains of the drugs out of my memory. I feel like my ovaries are going to explode. I have another u/s scheduled for tomorrow.
