checking in
Hello ladies, I hope everyone is doing well.
I am hanging in there the best that I can. I was doing a little better today, but I'm still sad, angry and confused. I guess for now that's allowed.
I spoke w/ my nurse today. As of Friday night, I went off the Progesterone suppositories, hoping everything would go on it's own. So far, nothing. No bleeding, had a bit of cramping Saturday, nothing since. So I think I'll have to go in Friday for an u/s so they can rule out a tubal. She seemed pretty concerned that we not go much more past 6 wks in case it is ectopic.
I have a sit down scheduled w/ the RE on 11/15/07. We'll go over options. I hope between now and then she has a eureka moment and comes up w/ a new idea. I don't know how many more IUI's I can do considering I get pg every time but lose the baby every time. They want to do IVF but there's no way financially right now.
Anyway, that's all about me. Thanks everyone for thinking of me. Oh, I'm also researching the adoption process. Dh & I have decided to look into that option. Don't have a clue on how to start, but have a friend who is helping with that.
Have a good night....

Re: checking in
Hey Angie...Glad to see you are hanging in there!!
You know what they say....When you take a break and are not thinking about pregnacy and all that jazz and are concentrating on other things...i.e. adoption... that is when you will get preggers with the "keeper"!!! I know someone that that exact thing happened too... She gave up and went to China to pick up thier baby girl. She got home and was not feeling good went to the doc only to find out she was preggers!!! She had 2 babies that were under 18 months old....She cracks up evertime someone asks if they are twins and she says...no!!! LOL
Hang in there chica!!!!

Re: checking in
I hope you know that no one here thinks you are "a baby." I think you are amazing in your ability to go through such loss and still move forward. I can't wait until you have your baby. I will smile from ear to ear when I read that all is going well. Until then, vent away and know that we care deeply for you.
Hang in there.

Re: checking in
Angie, I am so glad you checked in, I was getting worried about you. I know your going through a tough time but I really do think that your time is coming. Don't think for a second that it will not happento you, you will have lots of inspirational stories to tell you little one once he or she gets here! The tougher the journary the more rewarding it will be when it happens. Let us know what you find out about adoption, I wanted to do that too but DH didn't.

Re: checking in
I'm so sorry to hear this has happened to you again. Once is one time too many! I hope your sit-down on the 15th goes well & your RE has some good information to share w/ you. I'll be anxious to hear what she has to say, as I'm always interested in hearing different treatments for RPL.
Out of couriosity, how much progesterone does your RE usually prescribe for you? And I'm pretty sure you had RPL panel done, but I don't remember what the results were??
Again, I'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you.

Re: checking in
Thanks everyone.....I've been reading all your replies...it means alot to me.
To answer your questions, I take 100 mg progesterone (suppositories) morning and night. Is the RPL panel the autoimmune panel? I don't remember. I did have that done after the loss in August and all came out normal. My case is considered unexplained recurrent losses. It's just so sad. I would like some answers. We will do an FSH level and check my thyroid level again w/ my first AF cycle.
I had to go in for another beta and a panel of b/w in case I needed Methotrexate for a tubal. My # came back 40 and it was 54 on Friday. Wouldn't ya know right after my b/w was done at lunch 4 vials I think I started spotting at work. I stayed the rest of the day and the very moment I arrived home, it came full force. I was cramping some last night, but when I woke up this a.m. the bleeding was heavier and the cramping was just awful. I'm ok now after taking some pain relievers and staying home this a.m. But I do have alot of work to do and even though I'd rather stay home, I may go in after lunch. I don't feel up to it though, as I have a tension headache also. I feel bad when I have to miss work. But if this headache doesn't go away I may pass altogether and hope tomorrow's better.
I'll keep ya posted..I guess we let nature take it's course, work on getting our homestudy started and meet w/ RE to see what's next.
Take care everyone!

Re: checking in
Yes, the RPL panel includes the autoimmune. I am also unexplained, so I understand how frustrating it is. My RE thinks that I need IVIG or LIT, but right now we can't afford IVIG or going to Mexico for LIT.
What are your progesterone levels ususally? I know that at Cooper, Dr. Check does Progesterone Therapy for his RPL patients. Here's one paper I found, but he's got a ton more on their site, if/when you're interested in reading.

Please take time to let your mind & body heal. Work will always be there. Trust me, you & your health are the most important things right now!
Take care & look forward to hearing an update from you soon.
