Default Can you do iui's with out med's or is it better to do with med's???

My doctor suggested trying iui's with out med's in a couple of months if i don't concieve on my own. My doctor don't think i need the med's just need help getting the swimmers where they need to go. I know nothing about iui's if someone can give some input it would help!!!! I had a t/r and have one blocked tube but my blood work and follicle fuctions are great.

I had 1 iui w/o meds but got a bfp the next month with clomid, that pg ended in m/c at 8wks. my last iui was with injectables and you see in my siggy my reward.

i would go with your doc a few trys and then upgrade to meds... good luck

Thanks
I just wasn't sure i never knew anything about doing iui's so i thought this would be the perfect place to ask questions. I was shocked cuz the cost of doing the iui is cheaper then the med's are, thats crazy but its worth it if it works.

It is a personal choice but for me - (I have gone through 4 IUI's)... I would rather be on some meds, such a clomid with the IUI just to give you a greater number of eggs for those slow swimmers to have a target for. That is what my doctor tells me. (my husband has a low count and motility) I did get pregnant this way as well. Just my thoughts, if I am spending $350.00 a pop for an IUI I want to have the best chance I can have. Good luck Heidi
