Cervical cancer is the only cancer with a single known cause-- the human papilloma virus (HPV).
A lot of people don't realize that there is now a test to detect HPV. The pap alone is not foolproof -- it can miss up to half of the time. But when combined with the pap, the HPV Test is virtually 100% accurate in identifying women at risk for cervical cancer. Ask your doctor about it, especially if you are 30 or over.
