Re: how much do you know about carbs?
Obviously, I cannot type today. LOL
I think the thing with Carbs is that not ALL carbs are bad. They fuel your cells so you do need carbs to live. The problem is moderation and what kinds of carbs you eat. I tend to lean to the "no white" eating. I stay away from white sugar, breads, pastas, etc. Those are the WORST carbs to eat. I can have a piece of white bread and it will cause my blood sugar to crash everytime because it makes me produce too much insulin. When your body won't let the insulin put the excess sugar into your cells it will store and, yep, it stores as fat. That's why it is so much harder for those who are insulin resistant to lose weight. It's all about the excess blood sugar from eating bad carbs. I've lost 15 pounds but it has taken me since September 2006 to do it. I am still struggling to get down to 20 pounds lost. My doctor has me on Metformin which is helping and plus I exercise as well.
