Default D & Debbie

Hiya! Sorry I've been MIA since that stupid trip - life just hasn't been the same since!! I think coming back to SPRING weather is nice, but it's kind of skewed our routine that much more. Anyway, there's a woman who orders liquid splenda in bulk then divides it out among people who order it from her. I'm not sure how much you get, but she charges $50 for a total cost (that includes the packaging & shipping). She said she has to order like 4 gallons of it and the cost is quite literally in the thousands! I guess it's the same kind of splenda the major food manufacturers use, so it's super concentrated. She does it twice a year and is trying to get the last couple of orders in so she can do the spring order. If either of you are interested, her email address is: kathy.splenda@yahoo.com - she's very nice, quick to respond and can answer any questions you have. She will not order until all requests have been made & paid, so if you want to do it, send her your name, address, email addy and then paypal her the money for as many bottles as you wish to purchase.

Thought I'd share - and hope to be back with you guys on a more regular basis SOON!

And in case you're wondering, I went WAYYYYY off plan while on the trip but am back on now. Stupid thing to do, but what's done is done. I regained some and have relost most of it.... oh, and my foot that I hurt back in Dec has been acting up, so that's been my excuse for not exercising. :::sigh:::: I don't understand how the pro's can say it takes 28 days to form a habit when I was religious on LC and then exercising for more than that only to fall off and have such a hard time getting back on - if it were a habit, shouldn't it be like breathing for me??!

Anyway, sorry to get all into my story, just really wanted to share the liquid splenda option with ya'all

Hey Teresa! Its nice to have you back. I ended up starting Atkins on Mar 29th and have lost 16lbs.

I have been using liquid stevia by Sweet Leaf. I really like it. Its been tough getting accustomed to the Atkins WOE. I am still in induction. It will be one month this Saturday.

I haven't exercised for 4 days. I am so bored with what I am doing. We have a bowflex so I am going to pull that out and start doing that. I havea noticed my energy level being down a little because of lack of exercise.

Well... I will talk more a little later. Ry's been a little under the weather today and I need to get the kid's ready for bed.

talk to ya later. I missed you!

I missed you, too, Debbie! CONGRATS on 16 lbs. GONE!! That is AWESOME!!!

I tried the powdered stevia - ick. Just couldn't get into it. But ever since you posted about the amount of carbs in regular powdered splenda, I decided liquid is the only way to go. Oh, and I re-read that lady's latest update and you get an 8 oz. bottle for the $50. Supposedly this is quite a bargain. I haven't shopped around a whole lot, but I know it's expensive and a little goes a LONG way.

Debbie, I somehow managed to get onto a mailing list called the Low Carb Cooks Nook - they have a chat every Thursday night from 9-11 EST. They share LOTS and LOTS of recipes. I've found that to be very helpful. I made a no flour chocolate cake tonight for an after dinner snack - mmmmm!! EASY and good!! Want me to forward one of the newsletters to you so you can sign up? Just give me your regular email addy and I'll forward it from my Yahoo.

Gotta get to bed, too - already 11:30 - ugh. And we have co-op in the morning. We are SO going to be late! lol

TTYS!!!

I will PM my email to you. That would be great. I may need a reminder though (with the chats) Since the weather has gotten so beautiful we are always outside doing things.

I use the liquid stevia. The powered stevia has carbs too. 1g per packet!!

Oh I tried the oopsie rolls. The first batch didn't turn out but the second batch did. YUM. I used them to make bacon and egg sandwiches. Oh... I USED to eat turkey bacon because I preferred it but have recently switched to pork. Lovin the fat

I have been in ketosis since day 4. Let me tell you... I think I had induction flu on days 3 and 4. I felt so nauseous and tired. But I stuck it out and feel good now. I have been a little tired lately... although Rylee has had something (not sure what) so I may have that too. I have had the "snap dragon" breath that indicates ketosis and cotton mouth. I have slacked a little on my water... but still get in about 8-8oz glasses.

The ONLY thing that concerns me about staying on induction is keeping my electrolytes in check. Potassium being the main one. I do try to eat foods rich in potassium. This way of eating has an incredible diuretic effect... I love it but potassium is coming out too. Do you do anything special? I am scared of potassium supplements. I still feel great and have energy though.

Are you still in induction? I guess you probably are.

I have been more creative with cooking. My husband loves the fact that I cook all the time now. I love it too but don't love the constant dishes. You know how hard it is to load a dishwasher

Well, I have to go and get on Conner's a$$ to get his school work done. I need to clean this house of mine too.

TTYL!!
