Wow this gave me goosebumps!!
Surrogate Has Triplets For Grieving Couple
Couple Lost Three Sons Before Triplets
POSTED: 9:17 am CST December 26, 2007
UPDATED: 10:01 am CST December 26, 2007
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Somewhere along the way, Chris and Susan Spiegel, of Eagle, Colo., said they lost the spirit of Christmas.
"We actually kind of avoided Christmas music or even commercials that had anything to do with Christmas," said Chris Spiegel.
Who could blame them?
Their son "Scotty" died of SIDS, or sudden infant death syndrome, when he was two months and 25 days old, KMGH-TV in Denver reported.
Years later, a second son died.
"(Skylar) was 16 years old. He died on his way to homecoming in a car accident in Vail," said Susan Spiegel.
Shortly after, tragedy knocked at their door a third time and took the only son the pair had left.
"CJ was hit by a car three years ago. He was 7," said Susan Spiegel.
It's enough to make anyone give up on Christmas, parenting and life.
Surrogate Mom Has Triplets On Christmas Eve
"Every morning, I'd get up to go to work and I didn't know why I was doing it," said Chris Spiegel.
Yet, the couple decided to try parenting again.
Susan couldn't have kids because of a procedure done years ago, so she solicited the help of a gestational surrogate.
The surrogate found out she was pregnant with not one but three babies.
"When they told us we were having three, I just knew it was the boys that gave us this blessing," said Susan Spiegel.
Coming weeks early, the three were born at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo. They arrived just in time for, of all days, Christmas Eve.
"This morning, they turned Christmas music on, and Susan said I don't mind listening to Christmas music now," said Chris Spiegel.
Despite the tiny miracles, the pair can't help but look over their shoulder, worried the dark clouds will return.
"With these blessings, I hope that it's over. I hope our bad luck has changed and we're going to have this miracle for the rest of our lives," said Susan Spiegel.
The memory of her three boys remain, though. Their first names have been passed on to the newborns, becoming the babies' middle names.
Born Dec. 24, 2007, they are Cayden Scott Spiegel, born 7:32 a.m.; Shelby Sky Spiegel, born 7:34 a.m.; and Billy CJ Spiegel, born 7:37 a.m.

OMG I am totally bawling. Even though they have those wonderful babies, I don't know how they survived losing 3 sons. My gosh, that's more pain than any human should ever have to endure. My prayers are going out to them. God Bless them and the surrogate...OMG.
