Default Trial Transfer

Hi girls - I'm a newbie April/May cycler and am currently on BCP and will be starting my Lupron shots tomorrow (ugh). In any event, this afternoon is my trial transfer and I'm a bit nervous for some reason - can anyone let me know what I should expect (and how painful it is or isnt)!! Will I be ok for the remainder of the day or be bedridden?? Thanks as always for the support!!

Hello -- Don't be nervous!!!!! piece of cake -- minor pressure, for me it was a little less than a pap.
I had HSG, Ultrasounds, Saline Ultrasound, Mock Transfer and Endo Bioposy all done on the same day, same time - all took about 30 minutes and went back to work for the rest of the day.

Minor twinges and spotting for two days - but fine!!! Best of Luck to you. It is best to have it done - no guess work on the day of bringing your embies home!!!!

I had mine done a few weeks ago - it was no big deal - kinda like a pap smear (and similar to an HSG, but less cramping). They use a speculum to open up your cervix, put in the catheter to make sure it fits right, use the ultrasound to make sure everything is in the right position and take some measurements, they inject a bit of saline so they can see where the catheter will deposit the embies, and then you are all done! I had a touch of cramping when they inserted the catheter and when they injected the saline, but really no big deal. Not much different than an IUI with an u/s on, if you've had one of those.

Piece of cake. I didn't think it was bad at all. For me it was jsut like having a pap other then the u/s part. I didn't have any cramping just a little pressure.

It was pain free. And I am not good at handling pain. You will be great, don't worry.
