Thanking your RE ?? (baby mentioned)
Hey ladies..
As you know, I gave birth to our handsome little man last month after almost 6 years of TTC.. I really really really want to go hug my RE and his staff and thank them for this beautiful little baby.. I just don't know how to go about it..or if its even right to do ??
I know there will be lots of women/couples in his waiting room when I go.. I don't want to hurt their feelings or bother them in any way what so ever!! I have been there and really respect their feelings..
I really want the staff at my RE's office to see our little miracle.. the blessing that we have.. and thank them so so much!! so... any advice ?? Should I get them something ?? what would be ideal ?? Would it be ok if I went ??
Thank you ladies!! I appreciate your honesty!!

Re: Thanking your RE ?? (baby mentioned)
I sent a basket of cookies, candy, sparkling cider, etc. to the staff with a card during the holidays at my last RE's office. It was more for the holidays than a thank you since I never got pg there. I've thought about what I'd do once I get my BFP. I was going to ask the nurses what my RE likes, champagne, chocolate, sports, theatre etc...
I think it's fine to bring something in to the office. The receptionist will take it to the back I'm sure. I doubt it would offend any of the people in the waiting room. They wouldn't know what it's for anyway. It could be someone's birthday or any other kind of celebration. I'm sure they get appreciation gifts all the time. Let us know what you decide.

Re: Thanking your RE ?? (baby mentioned)
Keighan is sooooo beautiful!!!! My suggestion is lunch -- send a platter of sandwiches, spreads and salads from a local deli or a place like Panera Bread. For that matter - you could do breakfast too. This way you are including everyone and no one in the waiting room would know the difference - lunch/breakfast delivery. Or you could have the place deliver them with a personalized note.
He's soooo beautiful!!! I know your enjoying every minute and that includes 1:00 am!!!!!

Re: Thanking your RE ?? (baby mentioned)
my RE puts pictures up on this board (inside office- not in waiting area) and when I was pg this last time, i got a picture of shelly, dh, and the dr. and mailed it to him w/ a note on the back thanking him once again. i had sent a pic before as well. did you make announcments? send them one if so. such a doll!
and my dr. gives hugs after the transfer, after the u/s when i found out i was pregnant, when i found out i miscarried. . . he is very caring and i love that in him.

Re: Thanking your RE ?? (baby mentioned)
Congratulations!!
Our RE demands that we come in and show her our babies when they are born. She actually threatened us when we got pregnant with Colin. She told us if we didn't bring him in to introduce him to everyone, she wouldn't help us conceive our next one. LOL. I think she was joking?? We will be going into the office, but this time I'm planning on sending her something to thank her for our two children since we won't be having anymore. I brought Colin to most appts. with me (I asked to make sure it was okay) and when I didn't she always wanted to know where he was. Her office was a well oiled machine. I was never in the waiting area for very long and I was always by myself.
I would call the office and ask about bringing in the baby. That way you know if it's okay or not.
What about sending one of those bouquets made out of fruit?? I know my RE is athletic and cookies would be a no no, especiall when preaching the whole weight loss and excersise thing for fertility.
We also have them on our card list. They get Christmas cards and announcements.

Re: Thanking your RE ?? (baby mentioned)
When I was released from my RE i sent a huge fruit basket for RE and little candy basket for the staff!
Our RE has demanded to see aj once the waether gets better. It is kind of weird because It was winter then and now the spring is rolling upon us. It goes to show so much can change with a season =)
Bless your little one!

Re: Thanking your RE ?? (baby mentioned)
I sent a handmade glass angel to my RE since I noticed she had an abundance of angels in her office. And I sent a card to all of the staff, receptionist, nurses, ultrasound techs, even the billing dept.
We called to say we wanted to visit with the baby and they actually had a time where she did baby visits and it was like really close to lunch time so all of the patients were gone, so you can send them a gift and or call to find out when the best time to come and visit is.
Hope this helps

Danni
