So freakin bummed!!!!
I had my U/S this morning and he said he saw 3-7 good size eggs...huh?? WTF?? That's it?? Then he said the only way he would cancel this cycle is if my E2 levels are low. He did say my uterus looked good.....so what do the levels have to be?? I was too upset to think to ask. The nurse will be calling me this afternoon with the "bad" news I'm sure! UGGGHHHH!!!!

Re: So freakin bummed!!!!
I think they measure your Estrogen level to make sure all (or most) of those follicles are indeed filled with an egg, sometimes the follicles are empty, don't get negative, is not that bad, and besides it only takes one, remember, stay calm and wait for the call, KUP.

Re: So freakin bummed!!!!
3-7 is a pretty good response.
Maddy, I have a couple of quick questions. How old are you and how many days have you been stimming?

Re: So freakin bummed!!!!
Ok, I just looked at your profile. Maddy, the amount of follicles one produces goes down as theyget older. Significantly. People who prodce 10+ after age 40 are the exception not the rule. When I did my IVF cycle, there were 2 women over 40. One was 41 and one was 42. The 41 yo produced 2 eggs the 42 yo produced 3. The 41 yo has twin daughters, the 42 yo has 1 daughter. So, it really only takes 1!
My frined did IVF with me and she was 31 at the time. She produced 3 eggs all fertilized and she has twin boys a day older than mine.
My point, you are doing FABULOUS!!!!! Please stay positive, this is a time where attitude counts!
On, on day 4 of stimming, I had no measurable follicles. I was 32.

Re: So freakin bummed!!!!
It's still really early- things can change really quickly and you may find next time you go that you have lots more. Did they count antral follies before you started stimming?
Although age is a huge factor it desn't mean you can't be successful- this last cycle I was 39 and they got 28 eggs- I just checked my notes and after 8 days of stimming they only counted 7 follicles about 10mm (ie measurable). Good luck with the rest of the cycle.
