Default Progesterone levels

I am 7 days post retrieval, I started the IM progesterone 200mg at that time. This morning I had my level checked and the nurse said it was 39.1 and that they like to see it higher than that. Now I am to take 200mg vaginally twice daily in addition to the shots. Is this too much? Why are the shots not enough?

I think your levels are terrific! But, what do I know. My doctor always wants to see my levels at 40. But, from everything I've read, a level over 10 is suppose to be sufficient.

Each doctor is so different in what they want/expect. The other thing to remember is that each lab is different in how they read things so it could just be that.

All that being said, it never hurts to have a lot of P4 on board. You might have a few more symptoms but it isn't going to harm you.

I have no idea what P4 level I have, when I asked for a copy of the test it said "less than 60" , so I wouldn't worry about and trust your doc.

I don't know my P4 level either - my doctors don't check (at least with IVF).
