Ouch....
I did my progestrone shot last night, I have to do them up until May 8th. But I think I may have pumped it into a vein or something? I got this big egg on my butt right after and it kills! It's bruised and purple, and it's hard to the touch. Anyone else have this happen? OUCH!!

Re: Ouch....
Same here. I have big hard lumps on both sides of my tush and it hurts like hell. I don't know how much more I can take. They say I'm supposed to do this until I'm 12 weeks. I'm only 4 weeks right now. Such torture! Hang in there.

Re: Ouch....
Massage and heat. I had some lumpy ones that stuck around. The massage really helps. I would end up rubbing my rear whenever I could think about it. There are probably legions of New Yorkers talking about the Butt Rubbing Gal. Teehee.

Re: Ouch....
ouchy is right! hopefully massage and heat do the trick. i was happy when my doc told me that if at my second blood test the prog level is high enough i can stop the PIO and go back to the fizzy tablet. hope it feels better, soon.

This was a very common occurrence for me. Hope you don't get too many more.

Re: Ouch....
Sorry about that! Like others have said, massage and heat. I am still getting feeling back and have some lumps from my last round of PIO (from March). It feels like you'll never get feeling back, but you will. Hang in there!

Re: Ouch....
Hey, I haven't been around in a while and I haven't yet congratulated you on your BFP. So exciting. After all of those delays, it was finally a cycle worth waiting for, huh. Sorry about your tush. It's no fun those PIO shots.

Re: Ouch....
I think we need to rename the PIO shots the PIA shots... Mine is awfully sore too and I've only been doing them for 12 days. I swear that I'm running out of butt for my DH to inject into, and I know that's not possible, LOL. I haven't had the BIG swelling/bruising yet, but I'm sure it's coming... Hope massage and heat makes it go down soon, and helps w/future injections... What a great guilt story to put on your child when they become a real PIA later in life... Hang in there Heather! (It could be worse, you could be doing heparin along with the PIO, right Renee/wanttobeamommy13?)

Re: Ouch....
Oldie here...
I couldn't do the PIO for that reason. I don't have much of a tush and by day 3 of PIO I couldn't walk. Seriously, I COULD NOT walk. They were the worst part of IVF for me. My RE switched me to Prog. vaginal suppositories and sublingual lozenges. My Prog. were great the whole time. I know there is literature out there that says they aren't as effective as PIO, but mine were. You may want to ask your RE.

Re: Ouch....
Jenn - I'm also on the suppositories - most of the recent tests/studies on the crinone gel compared to PIO shots show the same as/better than pregnancy rates - I'm a little surprised so many drs still prefer the PIO! My dr will do either the PIO shots or the suppositories - it doesn't matter to him.
