how many units are you supposed to take?
If you do have an insulin syringe, they are 50 units. It looks like they hold alot but it really only draws up a little.
so I believe if you are supposed to do 20 units you would draw it to the 20 unit line.
HTH!
I am guesing you are on the Micodose lupron...here is what I found...thank goodness for google
Lupron™ Microdose
Administering Lupron™:
Lupron is a premixed clear liquid which comes in a multidose vial. You will use the same vial of Lupron daily until all of the medication is used up.
There are 2 types of Lupron therapy, standard and microdose. You will be given a specific dose depending on your medication protocol. Both are administered subcutaneously. The medication doses and corresponding volume to measured on the syringe is as follows:
Microdose Lupron
40 micrograms (mcg) = 20 Units on the insulin syringe.
- Gather your supplies. You will need: Lupron, a insulin syringe, and an alcohol wipe.
- Wash your hands.
- Wipe the rubber stopper on the Lupron vial with the alcohol wipe.
- You will need to inject air into the vial. Do this by drawing back on the plunger, place the needle into the vial, and push air into the vial. Place at least as much air in, as you are taking liquid out.
- Turn the bottle upside down, draw out the appropriate dose of Lupron.
- Gently tap on the syringe to expel any air bubbles and proceed with your subcutaneous injection.
