Lovenox bleeding?
I gave myself a Lovenox injection this morning and I am still bleeding from the injection site. It's just bleeding a little but it doesn't strike me as right. The immunologist who prescribed the Lovenox has closed for the day. I will call tomorrow but I just wondered if this happened to anyone else. I just walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes so maybe it got my blood pumping?

Re: Lovenox bleeding?
I would say the walking def would attribute, but you may want to ring RE. He/she should be able to answer your question also.Did you try applying pressure?

Re: Lovenox bleeding?
My RE practically laughed in my face when I told him I was using Lovenox. He won't give me any advice about it. His only advice is that it's a waste of time and money. I did not try to apply pressure. That is a good idea and I feel pretty silly for not thinking of it. Thanks Melissa.

No experience there.
Sorry, AJ. Hope the bleeding has stopped!

Re: Lovenox bleeding?
Why would he laugh at you? It's the one thing we did different on my one successful cycle. It's why my DD is here. Sheesh. Some doctors...
Anyway, did it stop bleeding? Applying pressure should work.

Re: Lovenox bleeding?
I was on Lovenox for my entire pregnancy. I agree with you AJ -- it doesn't seem right for an injection site to be bleeding for an extended period of time. Definitely call your immunologist tonight -- do they have an after-hours doctor on call?
And with Marian... your RE should NOT be laughing at you over a course of medicine prescribed to you by another physician!

LOL, I don't care about his laughing. Actually, he didn't actually laugh. He just had this little smile rise up and you could see he was holding it it. Thank goodness for this board, which allowed me to find out about immune issues and pursue them on my own because both my REs so far didn't believe in them. Many of you have living proof (or in Nicky's case 3 times the living proof) that it can work!
Anyway, I applied pressure and it stopped bleeding but I have got the strangest ugliest bruise I have ever seen. I am going to show the nurse today just to make sure it's not infected.

Re: Lovenox bleeding?
What a NIT WIT! It is not a waste of time nor money. I know several people that had 1st tri and 2nd trimester loss and it was due to blood clots in the umbilical cord or placenta!!! They made it to term with Blood thinners!

Re: Lovenox bleeding?
I had HORRIBLE bruising the first 4-5 months of my pg and discovered I was going too deep even though it's a subq injection. I always applied ice first and did not disturb the injection site...that can worsen bleeding and bruising. I think the treadmill was a factor too. I always did my injection in the evening shortly before bed...maybe this will help?!
Slap your Re for all of us....they are plenty of babies here because of the blood thinners!!
