Icon7 leaving IUI's beginning IVF

Hi guys my name is Kimberly and I have been on the IUI boards but in Jan/08 I had a tubal pg and had my tubes removed so now I am moving on to IVF after getting my head back together. My hubby and I are going to sign the IVF consent forms today and they are getting me into the sept/08 cycle. So any advice and/or support would be greatly appreciated. I am nervous and excited and alittle afraid about pain. So if anyone could let me know about anything that helped them in anyway, I thank you in advance!!!!
Babydust for everyone!!

Hi Kimberly!

To be honest, THIS BOARD helped me tremendously! So you've come to the right place!

We'll all be here to hold your hand every step of the way so post away, ask questions and remember to do nice/relaxing things for yourself all along the way.

We're rooting for you!

to the board Kimberly! Wishing you much success on your IVF cycle.

My name is Marian and I have a 4yo DD (Avery) from our DEIVF and a 6mo FD (Olivia) that we are fost/adopting. Over the years we've attempted countless IUIs and 11 different IVF cycles (and no, I'm not the norm, a lot of people are done in 1-3 cycles and have their families!).

I think my best advice is to just take things one thing at a time. Sometimes IVF can be overwhelming if you look at the whole thing at once. Besides that, stay positive and drink a ton of water.

Good luck Kimberly! I'm cycling my 3rd and last time as we speak. This board has been so wonderful. If you've got a question, this is definitely a great place to find answers. No question is off limits--lol!

Best of luck to you!

Hello! I'm pretty new here and just lurk a lot but was really excited to see another 2002 mommy here!

Sometimes I feel like we're just trying for another only child so it made me feel good to see that you're trying too!

Good luck to you! I've witnessed a ton of friendliness and a load of great advice here!

Welcome Welcome!
The girls here are FABULOUS!!!!
I just wanted to address you being afraid of pain with IVF. In my experience it has not been painful at all. The shots are a pain but more in an annoying way (and if you've done IUI you already know that). As for the 2 procedures the retrieval is usually done under anaesthesia and (usually) unless you get a ton of eggs there is little or no cramping after. Also, the girls here say the transfer is very similar to an IUI (I don't know I never did one - went straight to IVF)
Anyway, a friend of a friend just left one RE who wanted to keep doing IUIs for an IVF with my RE and she got pg the first time with twins. Even if it takes a couple times (in my siggy you'll see it took us three) it is soooo worth it.
Good luck and ask away:-)
