Joining you all in the IVF Journey (Children Mentioned)

Good morning ladies... I am new to these boards but have been lurking for the last few months... and not quite sure where I fit. I have 2 boys from a former relationship. I had a tubal ligation in Sept 2003 after my c-section and regretted it immediately

I had a consult with an RE 2 months after and unfortunately for me my OBGYN was very thorough and my TL cannot be reversed. IVF is my only option. My new husband and I really want to add to the family and have a child/children. We've recently moved to the US from Canada and have had the initial consult, all the testing and the final consult with our RE. My next step is to secure the financing and call in with my Day1!!!! We're looking to cycle in July for an ER in August. I am very, very, very nervous but feeling good about things. Understanding that nothing is a guarantee, it's re-assuring to know that DH and I fall into his highest success rate bucket of 70%+ success rate. He prefers a 5 day blast xfer but depending on quality can and will do 3 day. I have a million questions

I really hope I am welcome here.... as a lurker, I have been so impressed with the support I have seen you all give one another and would love to be a part of it....

How many of you ladies were successful on your first IVF cycle? What likelihood of success were you given? What was your protocol? How many did you xfer?

My protocol will be (I hope I get this right):

BCPs (ugh) beginning of July
Lupron x 7 days
Lupron + Stimming Meds (not sure which??) x 10 days
HCG Shot
ER
3-5 day ET
Progesterone Shots...
Beta

This looks pretty common, eh? I was hoping I wouldnt have to do as many meds based on the fact that I know that I am fertile on my own (in that my infertility was brought upon myself

)...

I had a tubal ligation in 2000 after my dd Samantha. I also remarried and wanted to add to our family.
It took me 3 IVF attempts and I never had any problems prior. I had 3 m/c during the IVF Process and finally had my little boy AJ on 12/14/2007. I wish you lot's of luck and you have came to a wonderful place to get advice, guidance and support.

I was told 75% pregnancy rate at my first consult. 1st fresh I had a chemical pregnancy. 2IVF/FET I had a blighted ovum and on my 2nd Fresh Cycle I had a twin pregnancy in which one stopped growing. I txer'd 2 embies every tx , just not my last- that was a 3d-3 embie transfer.

I am looking forward to getting started, scared to death that we won't be successful, etc. So many emotions at once- and I havent even started the hormones yet!!!!! Eeeek.

Hello Natalie! I am very, very new here and this will be my first, and more than likely only, IVF. I hope to start the real process in July as well.

Welcome to the board! Are you enjoying AZ? I relocated to Texas from there about ten years ago but would move back in a heartbeat.

This will likely be our 1 and only IVF cycle too, as we are paying out of pocket for the entire process.

We love, love, love it here in AZ. I hope we're not transferred out... but if so, it'll be to Austin and I love Austin too

I actually was successful my first IVF cy - which was a big surprise because so much went wrong. Because of my age and our issues, we were initially given a 60-65% chance of success, but that dropped down to 40-45% on transfer day because of the number/quality of the embryos available for transfer. We got our

, and we are expecting 1 little baby.

You have come to the right place for support! I dont know how I would have made it through without all of these amazing women here! I'm onto IVF#4 but I hope you NEVER see that day!

You're MORE than welcomed to join us, although we'd sad that you have to, so jump in anywhere and chat/ask away....
