Icon5 IVF after a miscarriage

when did your doctor's say it was ok to cycle again. this will only be a FET for me. i have had one cycle since my miscarriage. can i start next AF? i take meds starting day 1. or wait another month? i'll probably wait for the emotional part but wondered if i "could" start if i changed my mind?

this loss was tough . . . IVF #8 will most likely be my last. i can't do it anymore . . for a miracle.

Hey Rachelle,

Believe me, I know what you're going through. A loss is unbearably hard to handle and even though it does get easier with time, you never quite get that piece of your soul back. Hang in there, Rachelle.

After my 1st loss, my RE let me cycle again after 1 full cycle break so by my 2nd AF, I was ready to go back to IUIs (I hadn't moved onto IVF at this point). After my 2nd loss, (with my current RE) it took FOREVER for AF to return after my D&C. I was being held up because of all the testing she was doing anyway, but by the time all of my results came back, I just had to wait for AF and I was ready for IVF round #2.

I think you'll be physically ready to go soon. I think that once I got started on my 2nd cycle, it made me feel better becuase I was holding hope that I was going to have another chance. I hope the same becomes true for you.

I wish you ALL the luck with your cycle!! I feel it in my bones this is going to be the one that brings Shelly a sibling!!

I am delurking to answer this. I am so sorry for your losses. Shelly is beautiful.

I had a miscarriage in March of 04. My RE told me he wanted me to wait 90 days. I don't remember his reasoning. I do remember that part of it was becasue we did an some additional testing during that time. Anyway...I waited 8 mos total but the next IVF brought me my DD and then I had another IVF that brought me my DS right after that. During the 8 mos I was anxious to get started again but hind sight I am really glad I took my time.

With both of my miscarriages, my doctor made me wait until I had a period. It was pretty quick with my natural miscarriage, but when I had my d&c, it took forever AF to come again.
