So I have heard a lot about multiple IM shots in here and am a tad nervous that I have missed something. I have my trigger shot tomorrow night which is IM but that is the only IM shot I have been told about. Is PIO the progesterone? I believe I am taking progesterone as a vaginal suppository so no shot there unless my levels are low. Is that what you all refer to as multiple IM shots??

PGD Test 6-20 5 of 8 with normal results.

Some REs have their patients do Progesterone in Oil IM and others do the suppositories. I think some prefer one or the other across the board but some may look at the levels to determine which to prescribe. I think the IM one is more potent or gets delivered where it needs to be faster.
I could be wrong, but I think that is the case.

I never did my Trigger Intramuscularly, just subq. I did have to do the darn PIO for 12-13 weeks IM.

My RE prescribed both the suppositories and the progesterone in oil IM shot for me...lucky me!!

Yep I did pio im last time for 12 wks. My re said that this time he will let me do them for 2 wks and then the supositories till i hit 12 wks.

Nope, not bad. Tons of people do one or the other (or both... I did both). Just that REs tend to have different thoughts about what works best.

My only IM shot was my trigger, too, and I did my progesterone as a suppository (crinone gel - so much nicer than prometrium!!)
