IF research study....

I am going today to find out if I am eligible to participate in a study at my clinic. If I am I will get a full cycle for 1/3 of the price. That would help ease the financial burden. (I know you ladies are fully aware of). I have insurance but they wont pay one penny. Not even on meds or monitoring. So this would be a prayer answered.
So ladies.....Please help me pray for acceptance into the study.....

Let them say you qualify!!!

Good luck!! What kind of study is this for? I'm waiting for my RE to call to set up my day 21 US to see if I qualify for their research study. If I qualify then I will get 1 (folistim, equivalent to Gonal-F) free. My ins sucks too & won't pay for ANYTHING, but the clinic is going to cut us a deal since we are repeat customers.

How soon will you know if you qualify?

Its a progesterone(sp) study. And I am pretty sure they will tell me at my appointment today. At least I hope so.
You ladies are SOOOOO sweet, you made me smile.

I am doing a study this cycle. Where are you? I won't know if I am in officially for another two weeks. We have to finish two weeks of b/c first. I will be starting AF soon and then doing my cd3 testing. If that goes well there is really no reason why I shouldn't get in unless the study fills before I get done with the b/c pills.

I am super excited as well because although I have insurance, it won't pay a dime of my IVF cycle either. It does pay some on meds though, last time they only cost me $600.
Last cycle was $12,000. This time I think it is $1500 plus meds.

Are you going to be be in a prog. ring study?

gin2402----It is the exact same study. I am also waitint on af so I can do my day3 labs and than start bcp. I am not in yet, but like you I hope I finish the pills before the study fills. My center told me that as soon as you are given Lupron and you give youself the first shot, you know you are in.

I hope it works out for you! I was trying to get into a study like that for this cycle but I have to have Assisted Hatching and the study protocol wouldn't allow it. I was in a study for all three of my IUIs and they were free - which was great even though it meant almost daily early morning monitoring at my RE's office which is a 45-minute drive in morning traffic. It was a good (free) way to find out IUI won't work for us though.

Sure thing! My center told me the same thing, that you are officially "in" when you start the Lupron. I bet we will be going through this at the same time, that will be nice since our protocol should be pretty much exactly the same. When are you do for AF? AF is due for me today, but I see no signs at present. Hopefully, it will show up tonight or tomorrow. At the minimum I hope to get it before Sunday.

Just curious, I am in SC, where are you located?

I am in this study too. I pick up my lupron tommorow. I am about 9 days into the bcps. My clinic said basically once you start bcps you are in !!! I am in Fl.

I am going for my cd3 testing tomorrow! I know we won't be officially in until finishing the lupron but I am super excited to have things moving along now.

Did AF come for you yet?

I hope AF shows up soon, I know waiting can be miserable! My RE is in Mt Pleasant, SC, is yours the same one? I live near Myrtle Beach.

I started my b/c pills today and they asked me to come back on March 18th and I will start Lupron around that time- provided that all of my test results come back normal. Today they tested Thyroid, Estrogen, FSH, Prolactin, and did urine testing for UTIs. They said if I don't hear back them my tests are normal.

I will have my fingers crossed that Af shows for you soon. I hope you get in (and I hope I do too!)

I was wondering how things were going? I got my Lupron yesterday and am supposed to start it on the 20th.
I am starting to get nervous, but I guess chances are I will get in.
