Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
Hi Taryn,
I am doing my first frozen too. My protocol is really easy. I have been taking estrace pills from cycle day one on. I get estrogen levels checked on cycle day 5, 9 and and 14. I get an U/S on day 14 too. Starting Day 15 I do PIO shots and tentative transfer is set for Cycle Day 19 (which will be 2/25 for me).
It is MUCH easier than a fresh. I think some girls do BCP with their FET and some do non-medicated FET's but when I asked many had protocols like mine is now.
I wish you tons of luck.

Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
I never did a frozen cycle so I can't help you there but I wanted to wish you luck. I hope number two is much less of a struggle than number one was.

Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
Hi Taryn! How's little Kyen doing? I've had luck with 2 FETs now...each time we tx'd two and got pg with one. I went on BCPs to calm any cysts and for scheduling purposes, then did estrogen up until just before tx and then added progesterone. For me, FETs are so simple med-wise compared to stimming...but I'm not sure if they are the same for the surrogate either way. In your case, the frozen cycle will be a breeze since you've already done the hard work! I'll be hoping FETs prove successful for you! Best wishes!

Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
I just wanted to wish you and your surrogate the best!
A fet is way easier. There are different kind of FET cycles, medicated and non medicated. Speak to
your RE to see which they intend to use. For a Fet there is no hormonal stimulation and it is basically hormones such as E2 p4 being supplemented. I did b/w 1x a week and was schedueled for CD 20 =)

Did she get approved Taryn?

Just wanted to wish you luck on your next cycle! FETs are much easier on your body than fresh cycles, and our frozen cycle worked very, very, very well.

Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
Good luck to you!!!!!
I have only done a FET, never a fresh cycle, so I can't really compare... BUT I've heard it is a ton easier. For me, I only had one u/s to check my lining. The rest is just meds at home. I was on a medicated cycle (lupron, estrogen patches, PIO) and it did the trick with two littke 3 day embies!

Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
Welcome back and good luck.
I am in the middle of my 3rd FET and it really is easier than a fresh cycle.
I did lupron starting on Day 21 with 2 baseline u/s and b/w to follow up. After that I started estrace and vivelle patches. A few days before transfer I started the PIO. And my clinic does doxycicline and medrol for a few days surrounding transfer as protocol.
Good luck!

Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
Hi Taryn! Welcome back and best of luck with your FET! I've had two successful ones and they are soooo much easier than a fresh cycle. For both cycles I did lupron and then on cd1 added estrogen. When my lining was ready (cd 18 maybe?) I stopped the lupron and started the progesterone and then had transfer a couple days later. It was much easier to manage - fewer meds, fewer changes to meds and only one or two appointments for b/w and u/s.
Good luck!

Re: I am back! FET? gestational surrogate cycle~
Thanks Taryn! DH and I feel so very fortunate. Four years ago I was sobbing on an exam table as the RE gave us the news that IVF was our only hope. I thought I'd never be able to have kids. It's crazy the turns life takes.
I'm so happy for you guys that you're trying for a little brother or sister little Kyen!! With all those frozen embies you're sure to have success. Best of luck to you! I'll be lurking around during your cycle.
