Have you ever noticed?
So, I have only 1 med that I have to mix before injecting - Luveris. I had to give myself 1/2 the vial, then store overnight, and then give myself the other 1/2 of the vial. I kept noticing that on the night it was "fresh" it burned like crazy, but on the next night, it was fine.
So, as a test, I started mixing the Luveris a few hours before I needed to give it on the first night. I kept it in the fridge, just in case, then put it out to come to room temp about 20 minutes before use. Well - it didn't sting! DH & I have a theory that it takes extra time for all the particles to fully absorb, and that is why it stings if you inject it right away. I checked with both the pharmacist and the dr, and they both said it was fine to do that (but not to mix more than 24 hrs in advance because the vials shouldn't sit "open" more than 1-2 days).
So, for all you other ladies that have to add the saline to powder for meds, I highly recommend doing the initial mixing either the night before, or at least a few hours before - it really lessens the stinging. I waste an extra syringe that way . . . but I still don't care!!
Let me know if you think this works for you, too!
