Default Good News and Bad News (warning: long post!)

SO, I got my call this morning - it was my RE directly, not the embryologist, so I knew something wasn't right and of course, I panicked! I thought none of my eggs were mature or that they didnt fertilize or god forbid, there was some catastrophe at the lab! But all was well w. my embies........thats the good news......out of 16, 13 were mature and ALL 13 fertilized (woo hoo!).

Here's the bad news......after the ER, they always do an U/S to make sure that everything is ok and that there is no internal bleeding and apparently (never knew this part), they also check your uterine lining and mine was NO GOOD! They didn't tell me specifically but they said there was NO way that any embies would stick, Sooooo, they had to freeze all 13 at the pro-nuclei stage. My RE said there's a 90% thaw rate at that stage BUT I'm bummed because my FET is the ONLY cycle where I didn't get a BFP! NOT that I prefer another loss, or another BFN, but I'm still just really bummed and nervous that my fresh cycle success rates when right down the tubes!

She really took the time to talk to me about how she knows that I'm frustrated and she understands and that she's going to do everything in her power to make sure my next cycle is 'the cycle of the century'!!!!!!

So, she said I should get AF in about 2 weeks and that she's not putting me back on BCP and that I won't do Lupron this time around either but I'll do injectable estrogen instead of pill form.

I guess there's really no sense in getting worked up over it. I mean I've dealt with MUCH WORSE disappointment than this!

So........we wait...........Any July/August cyclers out there - LOL - Geez I think I've been in EVERY cycle group here!!!!!!

P.S.( for those of you who asked in my other post - here are my stats....)

IVF#1 July/August '07- stimmed for 9 days, 14 retreived, 10 mature, 7 fertilized......all but 2 fizzled out by day 5 - tx 2 morulas - low beta BFP (14) - beta continued to rise, saw sac and fetal pole but never made it to the heartbeat)

IVF#2 Dec/Jan '08- stimmed for 9 days, 13 retreived, 11 mature, 9 fertilized.....tx 3 8cell on day 3, froze 6.......again, low beta BFP (11) - beta again continued to rise but no visible sac on U/S......did D&C, no tissue in the uterus, took Metx shot, beta still rose, all the way up to 11,000 - at 8wks, finally saw bulge with heart beating in the tube - emergency Lap. Lost right tube.

IVF#3 April '08 - FET - thawed 6, 4 survived, transferred all 4.......BFN!

IVF#4 May/June '08 - (Fresh cycle #3) added acupuncture, protein bars, an egg a day and atleast 3 liters/96 ounces of water - stimmed for 7 days, 16 retreived, 13 mature, all 13 fertilized normally..........

to be continued....

Renee if they give badges of honor for IVF then I think you deserve a bright shiney one for all that you've been through. I understand your fears about the FET, I would be nervous too. I'm guess I don't understand why she wasn't watching your lining all along and making the call sooner. What do I know though. I'm happy that you had such a great fert report, there is some silver in the lining. Hang in there, I just know you're going to get your BFP.

Renee,
I haven't been posting but I've been keeping tabs on you girls every now and then. I saw your post this morning and had to send you a big hug I know this has to be hard on you. I can't say I know what you've gone through but I can totally sympathize.

But this is only a delay and soon your embabies will be back home and you'll get your BFP! I just know it! Take care of yourself, keep staying healthy, and be good to yourself this week!

I am thinking of you, HB. I MAY be doing a July/Aug cycle... we still haven't fully committed yet... so who knows, we may be doing something similar... I will possibly be tx-ing my one frozen blast coupled with a 5-day tx/fresh cycle (Aug ER/ET time frame)... will keep you posted.

Crap. Talk about a letdown. I agree with PP that you deserve a medal for all that you have gone thru.

I am surprised that your RE did not adequatley monitor your lining. Also you stim med for JUST 7 days. Maybe thats why the lining did not have enough time to get thicker?

I know you did not have good results with FET, but remember that many people have had great results with FET. You will be much more relaxed and your uterus will be much more receptive. Hang in there.

Like Lynn, I might be doing Aug cycle.
:hugs

Oh, no, Renee! I'm so sorry. Did she say why they didn't notice your lining wasn't doing well earlier? I'm just so sorry you are going through this!!
