Default First IVF Coming soon

Hi ladies,

I'm new to this board. I used to post in IUI last year. DH and I took a break in 2007 and have decided to move forward with the more aggressive approach. Our protocol is IVF w/ ICSI in February. I'm waiting for AF, then will start BCPs 1/19 approx.

I have to admit I'm nervous even with having previously done IUI w/ injections. There's just so much more to loose it seems. Money aside, emotional pain, and pressure of getting older by the minute are so daunting. I know it will all be worth it, but my strength and faith have been through so much in the last 3 years. I know I'm not alone. This site has brought so many women together. I'm grateful for that.

Hello! I'm just lurking here, but I wanted to welcome you! I come over here often to learn all about IVF, as my RE has told us that IVF and adoption are our only options at this point. I usually post on the IUI board.

I just wanted to know that I know how you feel. I could've written your post. I've been tested to my limits both emotionally and financially and have yet to bring home a baby.

I think it's great you are getting agressive w/ your treatments and have decided on IVF. I hope and pray you get your bfp very soon!

You take care and keep us posted! I think the ladies here are wonderful and they always answer any questions I may have, I'm sure you'll be quite welcome here!

Hi Cindy, Welcome.

I wish you didnt have to join us, and like we always say here.....I hope your stay is SHORT AND SWEET

I am in the middle of my 2nd IVF. My 35th birthday is on the 17th of this month so I'm TOTALLY hearing you with the 'race against time'. Its not like the whole process isnt difficult enough! I feel like Marissa Tomei in 'My Cousin Vinnie' where she's stomping on the porch about her bilogical clock ticking......lol

I wish you alot of luck and hope that this ride is smooth sailing for you.....You've found a GREAT support system here though! I dont know how I would have made it this far without these ladies!

Baby Dust to you!!

I know I'm just echoing everyone else, but this site truly has been a lifesaver. I don't think I could've gotten through my BFN without the supoort of all the girls on this board. I'm sorry you have to join us, but you've definately come to the right place!

Welcome!

Hiya Cindy!
I missed you when you dissapeared on my last year and am glad to hear from you again, just wish it could have been on a due in board, instead of on the still trying circuit!
I wish you all of the best with your IVF and pray you get your miracle!
(how is your puppy doing?)

Hi Cindy! I agree with all the other ladies, I don't know how I would have been after two unsuccessful IVF attemps without the support of these ladies. You are DEFINITELY in the right place! Here's for a BFP for your March birthday!!!

I'm glad to be here. Hope it's short though.

Carrie-my puppy is great. DH actually bought me a second maltese for my bday last year. It's her first bday today. They really enjoy eachother.

Welcome!! I haven't been on here too long myself but I've found everyone to be so nice and very helpful. I also hope your stay on the IVF boards will be short I can relate with the age thing. I don't feel or look 38 (everyone does a double-take when they find out how old I am) but my body is 38. Best of luck to you and keep us posted!

Welcome, welcome, welcome. You will be an old pro before you know it, especially since you have done injectables for an IUI.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. So tell me how you decide how many eggs to transfer. I think that's the hardest decision.

Our dr made his recommendation based on the quality of the eggs. In our case, we had 3-5 that were of the quality (based on a scoring system) he recommended, but always left the final decision up to us. In both attempts, we transferred 5... keep in mind that I'm in my 40's and statistically 50% could be chromasomally abnormal... so we transferred the maximum for the best potential results. I'm envious of the ladies that can "get away" with having 1, 2 or even 3 transferred with confidence that one will take. My dr has two daughters, both IVF babies... so I know he counsels all his patients as he would his own wife. Pretty comforting.

I'm thinking 3, but I'm really not sure. I guess I have time to think about it. I can hardly think of anything else. LOL I could have never guessed the obsessive thoughts that go with this deal.

Hello and Welcome! I too will be doing first IVF - a month later than you though. Let's hope and pray that the first time is the charm.

Yes, the emotional side of this is horrible. I can't even watch TV -- every time I see a baby I start crying. My children think I've lost my mind.

Baby Dust and Postive Thoughts to you.
