Hey girls, my return visit is next week and I know one of the tests they will request is a saline or water sonogram. Is this done at a specific time during the cycle? I can't remember for the life of me when I did them before!!!

I was told that if we were ttc that cy, it needed to be done by CD 10 (because it can thin the lining). Other than that, it doesn't really matter.

Well yeah, they are probably right, I had mine done when I was on BCP already, so technically I was doing the IVF cycle already.

Hey Cheryl. I'm not sure when they do that test because this is the first I've heard of it but out of curiosity can you (or anyone) tell me what this test is looking for?

I had it done when they suspected I had a fibroid in my uterine cavity - it just gives them a much better look at the uterine cavity. It is quite similar to what they do with the mock embryo transfer when they inject some saline in.

Renee~TKeys is right...helps check the shape and volume of your uterus and also helps them in knowing the placement of the tube 'thingy' (sorry not quite a clinical term) for the upcoming transfer.
If that's the case, then I may start my cycle next month!! I'll keep you all updated!! Thanks again!!

I just had mine done on Tues. It left me a little crampy but it wasn't too bad. But yep it has to be done by cycle day 10 and they also check for cysts and anything that might complicate or interfere with your upcoming cycle.

You know....I don't remember getting this done either!!! I'm wondering if its something new??
