Default Do fertile people have less brain cells??.......

Well I guess thats a little harsh...being I used to be one of those fertile people. But I NEVER made comments that the people I know do. My biggest mistake was ever telling anyone that I was ttc #2. Now evrytime i see certain friends "are you pregnant yet" .....ummmm NO. Another comment..."you must not be doing something right"....last time i checked there was only one way to do it....I mean we have one child..we knew at one time...LOL. My favorite..."you need to get a babysitter and have a date night.." like thats the problem, we dont have enough alone time to dtd.. I wish that was my problem. LOL. Anyway anough venting...but really, do people ever think that there might just be a medical problem...Anway though you ladies would understand.....

I wish I had written down some of the comments people have made to us.
Seriously...

I have been on both sides of the fence. I guess it is hard for people to relate or make accurate statements since they are nto educated about IF. Many people do not even understand the concept of IVF. My FP made me explain the whole process!!!! Are you kiddin me, this is a medical professional and I had to tell him how IVF works step by step

I have to laugh because no one knows what we're doing and I usually hear "at your age you really need to start trying" Um, o.k. sure, I'll get right on that. I don't look my age at all though (I've been told I look at least 10 years younger) so people who don't know me very well usually say that DH and I need to relax, take a vacation, stop trying and it will happen. I smile, say "o.k." and change the subject.

I think we have determined here before that, "yes," yes they do have fewer braincells. It's the only conclusion we can come to.

What's so amazing is that we all have heard so many of the same stupid comments!

"Relax, don't think about it so much, get drunk, let your hair down, go on vacation, prop your hips on a pillow, put your legs up the wall, don't worry - it will happen when you least expect it, stop trying so hard....................."
The thing is, my DH actually buys into that crap. Paaalleeeaaase!!!
Some people just need assistance and I'm glad we're getting it now from a very experienced clinic.

You are right.. sometimes people don't think before they speak. You should hear some of the reactions I get when people find out I am ttc #4! I don't tell very many people and that is one of the reasons why..

I don't want to deal with all of the questions, etc. either, but I would rather not hear the "are you crazy?" type comments on top of all the stress of IVF.
