Default Cytotec and Miscarriage #3

Hello everyone, just returning to the boards after an extended absence and a miscarriage at 9 weeks. Five weeks later, still feeling bruised and still AF is a no-show. My ER induced the miscarriage with Cytotec after my last U/S showed no heartbeat and no growth since the 7th week. My bloodwork today still shows my pg hormone at 16...five weeks later and my body hasn't rid itself completely yet. I'm still as bloated and hormonal as I was then and I'm so tired. Has anyone ever used Cytotec? I'd be happy to know of any candid experiences.

I have been so hesitant to sign on and catch up on all of you and your journeys. I did try to read some today, however, I couldn't control my tears - happy & sad. I can sympathize with all of you who have had failed cycles or losses, but at the same time am so happy and excited for those who have successes to share. When I can read w/o getting upset, I'll come back and follow more closely and live vicariously through all of you wonderful, strong and amazing women.

bye for now

i used Cytotec for my blighted ovum and found it far more tolerable than the recovery from my emergent lap. my results did take longer to go down but the trade off was worth it. my only complaint to the doc was those were cramps, they were contractions! thank goodness i had some pain killers to help out.

No advice or experience w/Cytotec, but I certainly can relate to your m/c. I had two blighted ovums, both of which resulted in D&C's I've also had 3 back-to-back-to-back unsuccessful IVF cycles since Aug/Sep... My heart goes out to you Sabrina, but glad you are slowly returning to the boards. Post when you feel ready, in the meantime know that you are in our hearts and in our thoughts & prayers!

on the cyberhugs...

Welcome back, Sabrina. I'm so sorry to hear your news.

I ended up taking methotrexate for an ectopic. Shot was 3/10. I finally had a 0 beta on 5/16. It just takes a while to get the level back down to 0.

Hugs to you...

Ladies, thank you all for your hugs and support. It means so much to know that I'm not alone in this journey, that other's have been there before me, and no one is going to say "relax, you'll get pregnant in no time!"... LOL! Truly, how nice is it to have women friends who truly understand??? You are all the best, and I pray every day that each of us find our way to a happy ending.

Marie - sorry to hear that you're going through this now too. Big hugs go out to you...
Cookie - can't believe it took a full 2 months for you with methotrexate. And so sorry for your loss, too.

My numbers have dropped but need to go back in again next week for what i hope to be is the final test, then i can discuss next steps with the RE. Although not so sure that DH and I will continue with treatments. But hell, my waist is finally getting back to normal...so let's have a party!
