Curious......
So I'm contemplating more time off of work through this IVF cycle. I really have not taken ANY fun time in the last 2 years. All my days off were for surgeries, tests bed rest or beta days......all torture, NO FUN!
My job can be annoying at times (Who's isn't!??!) and I just thought I'd like to keep myself in a nice relaxing atmosphere while I'm in that 2WW this time. Especially with it being so nice out lately......I thought I'd hit the beach or sit by the pool a few days.
BUT............I recently read somewhere that you shouldn't 'sunbathe' after transfer.
Has anyone heard this!??! I'm going to ask my RE if I EVER get AF and get started w. this cycle!

Re: Curious......
Hey Renee -- for me right now - I don't know about sunbathe but I can't submerge my body in water, no baths, hot tubs, pools, etc. due to the prog supps.
so I don't know. KUP!

Re: Curious......
Renee, my instructions were the same, no hottubs, baths, pools. One of the medications (Estrace) I was on said to stay out of the sun (natural & non). So maybe it has to do w/ the medication?? Great idea to take some time for yourself to relax!

UH OH - I layed out the day after transfer!
My first 2 betas were good. . .I don't know?!
I plan to swim this weekend so I better call my doctor's office & ask. They didn't mention that to me.

Re: Curious......
Mine said no subbathing or car seat heaters for prolonged periods of time. Anything that elevates your natural temp was a no no.

Re: Curious......
Yes I heard about that, but I don't think sunbathing would elevate your temp. to the point of damaging the embryos......I did have instructions of no bath, pool, beach until heartbeat was detected.

Re: Curious......
Well...I spent a lot of time in the sun ~a week after transfer and swam A LOT! I even had a massage. I also went kayaking but it was nothing close to exerting. I say, don't over do it but if it's meant to be....IT WILL BE. Good luck! I think it's a GREAT idea to relax. Til this day I swear that's how I got my sticky I just left it in his hands and had a wonderful vacation. This time around....I hope to do the same.
I did however, do the whole bed rest thing...but then I fell down the stairs when I went to get a drink. Go figure! With all that she still stuck!

Re: Curious......
( Thanks Rachelle! Always thinking of you )
So ladies, AF finally showed yesterday and I went for my BW/US appt this morning. RE says everything looks 'great'! I'm waiting for her to get my BW results and then she'll tell me when I'll start stims. I'm thinking tomorrow.
Anyways, I asked her about the 'sunbathing' and she said that it is fine, just to NOT let my body get overheated, and to stay EXTREMELY hydrated................I wont over do it, but its nice to know that I can take some time to relax by the pool!

Re: Curious......
Renee, I think it's a great idea to take more time off during your IVF cycle. During my 5 cycles, I took ER to second beta off for two of them....the two that WORKED!! Now, I don't know if it had anything to do with my success but it definitely lowered my stress level which was wonderful.
Good luck to you!!

Re: Curious......
Take some relaxing time for yourself. Put some water in a wine glass and lay in the shade if you have to.

Re: Curious......
Hey Renee,
since we seem to be doing everything the same at the same time, I will take time off with you. We can lay around with our laptops and sip lemonade by the pool. Sound like a plan?
I'm in if you are!!

Re: Curious......
Renee-
If you have the time...take it off and take care of yourself! Like the other ladies said, get a mani, pedi, sunbathe (that's great your doc gave you the go ahead)...anything to make you relax. I also took time off during my IVF cycles and that time away was wonderful...just to be away from the daily work grind and pressures.
Have fun!
