Icon5 Cleveland Clinic Cyclers

Looking for input from cyclers at the Cleveland Clinic and just your thoughts overall on choosing our second IVF clinic... I'm having a hard time making a decision between the CC and my last clinic...

Clinic #1: RGI clinic
- Where I did my first cycle,
- Not aggressive enough
- I felt like I didn't click with my RE, but he was a good RE none-the-less...
- VERY close to home
- $2k cheaper
- Very good clinic overall
- Nurses were wonderful
- RE was in all my u/s appts

Clinic #2: Cleveland Clinic
- Had my consult and was excited for a more aggressive protocol
- I didn't 100% feel like I clicked iwth the RE b/c she was very business like
- Not sure if I will get RE at all my u/s appts
- More expensive and 45 miles away
- IVF nurse was great, gave me lots of free stuff

Thanks for humoring me.

What about if you sit down with your current RE and ask for a more agressive aproach? I've found out that if you talk straight with your Doc. and ask for specific treatments usually the listen to you. Just my opinion.

They were on my list. It was very different than the clinic I used, but I liked them. I met with a female doctor. I was impressed with how thoroughly she went over everything with me, and she gave me hope. AnnK went there. I haven't seen her around for awhile, but she might be able to answer any questions.

Good luck!

I don't about the CC either, but I would try and talk to your first RE and see if he will be more aggressive since that is important to you. If he does not want to, then I would go ahead and switch to the other clinic. That's JMHO

making a decision.

No words of wisdom from this Calif resident, but want to applaud you for taking control of your situation!

I'm going through my 3rd IVF cycle and put full trust into my RE. I had a good relationship with him and his staff, but didn't know to ask more questions... Compared to others my friends have gone through, he appeared to be cutting edge and progressive. He has since left the clinic and I'm seeing a new RE in the same practice. I'm learnng that he's even more aggressive than my previous RE which I'm thankful for given my age and history. You just never know until you ask. I got lucky and the choice was made for me, I wasn't smart enough to question things.

Good luck to you!!! BFPs, here we come!

Thanks for your thoughts girls.

I think I am going to set-up a second IVF consult with my old RE and put things on the table with him. The one thing I liked about him was that he always let me voice my opinion. And, in a second cycle, I feel like I am more knowledgeable.
