What should I give up now while I prepare for shots, ER/ET...???
Caffeine, booze are a given but what else?? I'm a HUGE splenda fan...any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Re: BTDT...what are your recommendations??!!
Everyone is diff and so is dx's -- mine said Stop all booze at the start of stims, take a prenatal and extra folic acid, ideally three months before start. and to not take anything else except tylenol as needed. Nothing - but my RE is pretty strict. He said a good rule of thumb is to just be "pregnant" and treat your body as if you were.
Splenda -- your freaking me out - I use splenda in everything - coffee, baking, everything. Omg - don't tell me that's bad. Please let me know if you find out something.
I also read - now remember I think if you tried hard enough you could read just about anything on the internet - to not eat any blue cheese, gorganzola, etc. or any processed lunch meats.
This could be a really good post - can't wait to see what everyone says.

Ditto for me. The cheese and the lunch meat are realistically okay but its getting you used to the idea you shouldn't eat them while preggo. Soft cheeses, particularly those that are imported, aren't made from pastuerized milk so they as well as lunch meat can harbor listeria which is really really bad for preggo women. If the package of cheese says made from pasteurized milk then you're okay.
Face creams and washes are important to look at. Those that contain retinol and certain acids can effect fetal brain development. Prescription strength are the most concern but I didn't even want to chance it with over the counters with preggo with DS so I use Aveeno.

Re: BTDT...what are your recommendations??!!
I stopped drinking when I started stimming. I still drank a cup or two of regular coffee each day until I got my bfp. No ibuprofen products, and that is about it. Once I started stimming, I did not take any meds unless it was on my Drs safe list he gave me. My RE said the less crazed I was, the better. So I did not sweat the little stuff like food, caffeine etc. I saved my sweating for the big things! LOL

Re: BTDT...what are your recommendations??!!
Here is my advice...worth 2 cents but I got pg after doing this (and I didn't do it or get pg for the 2 cycles before...)
Once you start your cycle (esp. when stimming):
Have at least one egg a day
Drink as much water as you can stand
Have at least one protein drink or bar per day
Good Luck!

on the H2O. I've heard it recommended many times to get that 96oz in. But, of course, don't start with that, you'd float away. You have to build up to being very well hydrated. My successful cycle included me carrying a gallon water container with me everywhere, including through the whole pregnancy. Not pretty, but totally worth it.

Re: BTDT...what are your recommendations??!!
My last preg I stayed away from EVERYTHING, shoot even chocolate since it had caffeine in it.....no kidding.
I'm staying away from soda, soft cheeses, lunch meats (unless warmed up), obviously alcohol. I already drink 80+ oz of water, but have upped that too (but that's mostly due to the OHSS). I didn't think about the facial cream, that scares me. I will HAVE to take a look at my stuff when I get home. Thanks!!
This is a good thread.

Re: BTDT...what are your recommendations??!!
I get crazy migraines. Like in that my whole left side goes numb. It got really bad a couple of years ago. Stress is a huge trigger. But the other thing I read about was artificial sweeteners. I cut out all of them (even Splenda is talked about as bad) and my migraines have been SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. [I've had MRIs and there are no tumors, strokes, etc. Just "bad wiring"]
I realize it's an individual thing, but I'm now one of those crazy "artificial sweeteners are poison" folks. Although, DH sstill drinks it in his coffee...
If you can, try to cut out some of it. Drink water instead of cokes when you're thirsty. And one spoon of sugar in your one cup of coffee isn't going to make your butt big.
