Icon5 Anyone know about shared risk??

I guess I didn't realize before now that you can be disqualified for certain reasons....

I was looking into ARC for financing and read there are several factors that can disqualify you for the refund guarantee, except for their biggest package which everyone qualifies for which is 3 fresh/3 frozen w/ refund if no baby. But I hear it's an ungodly amount.

My clinic uses integramed/Capital one for financing but they offer shared risk as well.

Has anyone been turned down for this?

I'm thinking I would be b/c of my age, fsh is 11.5, and multiple m/c. Does using DE make a difference?

Sorry to ramble, I have tons of thoughts swimming around in my head. Trying to get them all organized for my appt in 2 wks for IVF consult. I am famous for forgetting major questions, then having to call later....

If anyone has experience with this, I would love some insight! Thanks!

We have shared risk - and that is what we did. They do have strict criteria. We have a shared risk donor egg option, and things that would disqualify you from the regular shared risk (like high FSH) are not disqualifying for non-shared risk.

I'm not sure what all the factors are - poor response to meds in the past, high fsh (not sure what number is deemed high), age, etc can all be disqualifying factors for the regular IVF.

I did shared risk with Integramed 2-3 years ago. It was the program you talk about- up to 3 fresh, 3 frozen & I think 70% refund if not successful. You age definitely shouldn't disqualify you- I was 37 at the time and I know there was a requirement to be able to do all cycles before turning 38. I'm not sure about FSH or multiple miscarriages- sorry. I would have thought that that would be irrelevant if you were doing DE. I think I phoned Integramed and spoke to them before my RE appoiintment, just to understand what the eligibility limits were. Although it was a lot of money to find up front I did find that it took some of the stress out once we had started (less worry about how to fund cycle #2, less stress about whether to try again etc).
If you have any questions I can help with let me know. Good luck with your decision & consult!
