Accupunture ???

We did accupunture with our first cycle. And we are doing it w/ our FET but I just am not finding it really relaxing. It is the same dr and everything. I think I felt a lot like that last time too. Do any of you feel that way?I have a really hard time shuting down. The atmosphere is pretty relaxing soft lights and music. Are there spots that you find hurt worse then others? Last question is do you bruise from it?

I don't remember bruising last time and I was on the same meds. I even have bruises in my ears. Out of all the spots they are doing about 30 I'd say that I end up with about 6 to 10 bruises about the size of at least a dime, most of them are the size of a quater. when I asked about it they said that the discomfort is becasue the energy to the meridians (sp) is messed up. They also said that the bruising is from being on the asprin.

Hey Jenni.

I just recently started acupunture and I have to say........I LOVE IT! I have bruised once, but not regularly but I'm sure once I start my heparin/BA that will be another story. I DO feel extreme stress relief when I'm there and I'm telling you, i havent felt this good in years!

I will say this, I saw a different doctor in teh practice once and did NOT have the same experience. Have you seen the same acupuncturist each time? Maybe you should give someone else a chance. I feel as though it has REALLY changed me and I hope that you can find that 'peace' too!

I never bruised and I bruise easily and was on aspirin the whole time. If it hurts, tell them to fix it. There were times I felt so relaxed I fell asleep, but other times I had too much going on in my head to relax. For me, what I liked was it helped with stress, headaches and irritability. I agree with maybe trying someone else.

Jenni, I did acupuncture for my first transfer, and also for the duration of my last two fresh cycles. No bruising whatsoever, and I was on BA & Heparin, so believe me, I would have bruised easily. Very little pain, although on occasion there was some discomfort in spots, and I believe it was as your practitioner said the energy flow is out of balance, but never any real pain...

My practitioner specializes in IF acupuncture - does yours? Doesn't sound like you're having a very good experience. Have you considered trying another practice?

This office does alot of IF. Infact they specialize in it. There are 2 different practioners in the office and I have used both w/ the same results.

I just had my first cupuncture today! I felt a little bit of discomfort but no bruising. My arms did feel a lot heavy though. Is it normal? The cupuncturist said that I have a lot of stagnation so I will feel that way a couple of times.

It is normal that you have areas that may feel heavier. I haven't experienced that but I know that I was told by the preactioner that if it happenedto not be scared that it is normal.

I didn't really find it relaxing. It was just a quick nap for me after a long week at work and a long drive to get there. I'd nearly fall asleep driving to my appointment so I felt a wee bit better when I left. I could have just as easily gone tanning for the same effect.
