Default What do you know about Polpys?

Hello ladies, I have been a poster on the Oct. 03 and the TTC 2nd board but not here but I now think I could use your advice, so if you don't mind me asking a question...

My specialist called me last night... I have a polyp! He said sometimes these act as an IUD? I need to have surgery to remove it. Hmmm...not too wild about having surgery. Anybody ever had a hysteroscopy or a ??? forgot what it is called, or had polpys?

TIA!

Hi Robin,

I haven't ever had Polyps, but I did have uterine fibroids, for which I had several surgeries actually. The surgery itself is not a big deal. It's is done under general anesthesia (you're out) and I don't even know that I had too much cramping afterwards. I was sore for maybe a few hours, but vicodin was my friend and I was fine by the next day. The hysteroscopy, they use a small camera to guide it up into your uterus, and the camera has a little copper wire on it that they use to essentially scrape off the growth.

HTH, and good luck, I hope this clears the way for # 2!
