Hey, SheKnows Guest - we need you! The SheKnows TTC boards aren't going anywhere - but perhaps you'd consider helping us grow our new TTC message boards at talk.PregnancyAndBaby.com? We want to be able to provide even more resources and support to hopeful moms, which means giving SK's sister community a little extra love. Please check out the new P&B boards here - and thanks!

Hi! My name is Melissa and I am 23, DH is Josh and is 23 (almost 24). We were married on 06-05-04 after dating for a little over 2 years. During our engagement, Josh was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a childhood cancer. We continued on with our wedding plans, only scaled them down a bit due to stress and finances. One of the top priorities of our marriage was to have children, so we were lucky that Josh's oncologist had him bank sperm just before beginning chemo in 2004. After going through chemo and radiation for 11 months in 2004, he was clear of any signs of cancer. However, just this past August he went in for routine scans and found that the cancer had returned and spread throughout his body. He is now continuing this battle with cancer through strong chemotherapy and radiation. If all goes well, he should be finished with treatments sometime this spring. After being diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time, we really began to look at what was most important to us. Having a child came up as our top priority.
That brings us to the present...we are just beginning the process of TTC with an RE. I just had bloodwork done this past week and have an HSG scheduled for next week. After that we will be trying by use of clomid on my next cycle. The RE is not wanting to waste any of the vials of sperm that we do have, so she is going to be aggressive with our plan. After the first try using clomid, if I am not pregnant, she wants to have me go straight to injectables on the next cycle. I'm saying my prayers for "beginners luck!"
So, there's my story in a nutshell. I am looking for some support from others who are TTC because there is no one in my life at this time that is at that stage.
What a story!
I hope that your husband has a speedy recovery.
What a special relationship you have!
I am so sorry that you are going throught this and I look up to you for all of your courage.
Thank-you so much for sharing!!!
You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers!
Hi Sadie!! I've been with the boards for years but thought I'd introduce myself here. I'm dealing with Age Related Infertility (I am 39) and have been TTC for 4 years come March). I've been PG twice, both resulted in losses. I've done 4 cycles of Clomid, had one failed IVF cycle, one cancelled IVF, and 1 failed IUI. Currently on BCPs to deal with a large cyst. I go in on 2/2 to have it checked out and hopefully be on my way to TTC again!! to all!

Hi everyone! well this is my first forum ..I am 29 going to be 30 this summer and have been married for 10 1/2 years and in 2001 i was pregnant and had a tubal pregnancy and as a result lost the tube leaving me with one. Drs all said I needed IVF but put me through all kinds of tests and just when i thought i was close to ivf my insurance announcd they didnt cover ivf anymore. so i had to wait months for open season to come around and change coverage. I did and low and behold the dr there didnt put me through all the tests
( check out his site at New Hope Fertility.com)
we started right away
i had 7 embryos removed and they all fertilized 5 days later i went back and saw that 2 embryos began to hatch and they transfered one because of fear of a repeat tubal occuring. transfer went well and the embryos attached itself to the uterine lining and that was MOn 5/8 my appt in wed 5/17 for the pregnancy test and i am ever so anxious and afraid. because of new insurance issues claiming they dont have enough info to say i need ivf they denied it so now im in appeals, because my insurance covers 3 tries of ivf, so if i am not pregnant next week then with the insurance issue i dont know when ill be able to have the second one
i hope the first one takes.....i am so anxious i took a hpt , i know its early for it to tell
