Default Treatment for infertility

Hello everyone!! I am new to this.
I just want to share my problems with you and I want to know if pregnyl is good to cure infertility.
It has been almost six months that we’ve been trying for a baby but there is no chance. Me and my husband, we have gone to my GP and have done several tests after which my GP has told that there is no problem in conceiving and we are still young. On seeing my insistence to conceive a baby, my GP prescribed me pregnyl and I have already ordered it on the net http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s33559-s-HCG-PREGNYL.aspx. Is it effective or not??

Are you being monitored so you know when to have the injection? I'm taking a trigger shot as well but you have to take it when your follie is a certain size. I'm wondering why you don't think there is a chance of pregnancy after only trying for almost 6 months though. It can take healthy fertile people up to a year to conceive. I would suggest you go to a GYN if you want to have any tests done though.

These meds aren't usually approved by the FDA for validity. I would check with your OB GYN on a few tests that might rule a few infertility issues out, maybe have your DH take a sperm analysis. Both are non-invasive tests.

i hope you dont mind my 2 cents... i was 21 yrs old and we had been TTC #2 for 18 months. they told me i was young, there was no prob. Dh had his sperm tested even.

I woudlnt take anything that is not perscribed by your OBGYN. do not listen to a GP as they do not specialize with this. typically after 12 mos they will do something about it, 6 mos is still a low amount of time in the TTC world.

what tests have they done? have you had an HSG yet? if not go to your OBGYN and request one. i had one and it basically flushed out my tubes to see if i had any blockages, i was pregnant with 2 months. DH did 3 sperm anylasis' to make sure it wasnt hit. there are ALOT of steps to take before meds.

have you had the 3 and 21 day blood draws? thats your first step.

if a med is not approved by the FDA i woudlnt take it no matter how bad i wanted a baby. its not approvded for a reason

For me, before I had my son we tried on our own for 2 years. Then, I started to do charting and found out I wasn't ovulating. I never even heard of charting until I saw a book about it. We then decided to go see my dr. She decided to put me on Clomid after seeing from some bloodwork that I wasn't ovulating. I took 50 mg to begin with and I didn't ovulate (more bloodwork). She uped my dose to 100mg and I finally did ovulate but I wasn't pregnant. So, we did 100 again and no ovulation. What I didn't mention was that with each new cycle that would begin I would be in tremendous PAIN! So bad that I had to lay down for 2 days straight. Sometimes it was unbearable. I told my dr. of this, but she wasn't worried. I didn't know any better back then and so figured it was all part of the clomid. Well I took a 6 month break because I couldn't handle the stress or pain anymore. I decided to drop 30 pds and then I had 150mg on my shelf at home and figured "What the hell, I paid for it already". I took it and then put it behind me and was even a bit angry that it was so hard to concieve. Well, to my surprise...I was pregnant! I couldn't believe it and took me a while for it to sink in. After talking to my new dr. just a few days ago she was shocked that my other Dr. never did any ultrasounds to check for cysts or other problems! It's very possible that I had a cyst and the clomid was just making it grow and that's why I had so much pain. This time around I do have better hopes because my new Dr. will be monitoring me throughout all of this with bloodwork and ultrasounds and I will be getting an hcg shot this time to make sure I ovulate. So, maybe it won't take so long this time coming.
