Karen and her DH have been together since Sept 2005, they met through a friend and went on their first "date" at a restaurant at 10 pm at night because it was the only time they could figure out to meet before he left for 3 weeks with work and Karen's friend was getting married the day he was leaving, so she was so busy, it was the only time. They talked until they started putting the chairs on the table at the restaurant... they got together for a couple hrs the next night after the rehearsal dinner for her friend's wedding, and then the next day he took off... they kept in contact (with and some large phone bills!) while he was away and once he got home they have been joined at the hip ever since - when the Army lets them...

They have been TTC since May 2008 and originally thought they'd love 2 or 3 children, right now they're happy to be expecting.

One little tidbit not everyone may know about Karen is that she went to a one room school for grades 1 & 2 when she lived in the lower mainland of BC. There were only 18 kids in the whole school!

Karen has been on SK since she got a in Sept 2008... after her m/c in October 2008 she jumped DI boards for awhile, until someone suggested CycleBuddies to her and she's been around CycleBuddies ever since... She's been co-hosting CycleBuddies with AmandaD (and recent new host Dawn - Ciao_from_missdaw) since Dec 2009 and has a great board and is always there motivating others. Cycle Buddies wouldn't be the same without her!

She is a strong woman who just went through another , but is ready to jump back into the ttc game. We are all wishing you the absolute BEST!!

Dawn and Devin have been together 5 years (Sept 7th) of Marriage, 6 years total. They met at first when she was a Jr in High school and was actually dating his friend. She had strong feelings for him but never thought much of it because he was leaving for Korea to Serve in the USAF. Even so, they started chatting online near the end of his tour in Korea and then met up with him before his tour started in Italy. They decided they couldn't not be together - even long distance. They dated for 10 months, at which time Devin bought her a ticket to visit him In Italy for a month. Near the end of that month, they decided they didn't want to be apart anymore. They called their families and told everyone they were getting married. Dawn dropped out of College and quit her job. Before she left for vacation everyone teased her that she wouldn't be coming back, and they were all right! They got married on their one year anniversary of dating.

They have been TTC since July 27th 2006 and would love to have 2 or 3 children. They are SUPER excited to be doing IVF in September - we all know their dreams are going to come true that month!

Something you may not know about Dawn is that she has a HUGE family back home, she is the middle of 7 children, with 2 older sisters and 2 younger sisters, Onen older and one younger brother. She also has one angel brother in heaven who was sent too early at 10 days old.

Dawn has been on SK Feb 2009. She's a super great for all the girls and is a very active on the Cycle Buddies, TTC#1 & IVF boards - and we love her enthusiasm and energy, but as much as we love her - we want her to graduate!!!!! August/September IVF cycle can't get here fast enough'



Raspberry Spinach Salad

3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons raspberry vinegar
2 tablespoons raspberry jam
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 cups torn fresh spinach
2 cups fresh raspberries, divided
4 tablespoons slivered almonds, toasted and divided
1/2 cup thinly sliced onion
3 kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
1 cup seasoned salad croutons

Directions
In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the oil, vinegar, jam and pepper; shake well. In a large salad bowl, gently combine spinach, 1 cup of raspberries, 2 tablespoons almonds and onion. Top with kiwi, croutons and remaining berries and almonds. Drizzle with dressing; serve immediately.
