icon16 The scoop on the twins...

Hi Gals!

I am so very sorry its been so long since I've posted. I didn't mean to leave you all hanging. I've been wanting to post for some time. The last few weeks have been a blur! I'm sure you can relate.

After 3 inductions, we finally went in on Feb 8th for a c-section. The twins did wonderfully! It was so surreal. I still can't believe it all. They are beautiful! (Of course I would think so! Proud momma and all!)

As you've already learned, Marisa Renee was first born at 11:38am; 7lbs, 3oz, 19 1/2 inches long..... Jacob Thomas was born at 11:40am; 7lbs, 2oz, 19 1/2 inches long. Both babies roomed in with momma at the hospital where we all learned the art of breastfeeding together. We left the hospital on Saturday the 12th. I could have stayed one more day, but wanted to get home and start our new life. (The nurses never let me sleep!)

I ended up with an infection to my incision, but with antibotics, its doing better. I had my mom with me up until Tuesday the 22nd. It was very busy. Lots of folks dropping by to see the little ones. Doctors appts for me and the kiddos. Sleep deprivation... that is either getting better or I'm getting more accustomed to it. Haha

The twins are the most awesome things I've ever experienced. I look into their beautiful eyes and am just amazed by them. The love I feel is like nothing else I've experienced (yes, even when they are both crying in the middle of the night and can't seem to be consoled). At doctor appts the twins are as good as gold and you don't hear much of peep. They don't believe me when I tell them they've kept me up all night.

Their personalities are showing already. Little Marisa is my breastfeeding champ. She latches right on and does great. After feeding, however, she seems to need a lot of TLC. Which I don't mind. Jake is a little more hesitant at the breast and needs a lot more coaxing before he latches on. Once on he is a very efficient little feeder! Gets the job done in half the time it takes Marisa and once finished likes napping or quietly looking around while on the play mat or in the crib or mommy and daddy's arms.

I wanted to post pictures for you today, but for some reason can't get them uploaded to my Growthspurts account. I'll have to work on it again another time. I don't know what is going on there and at this rate may not have time to figure it out!

The babies are crying now, so I've got to go feed them. Just wanted to take a quick moment to let you know all was going great! Busy! But great. Hopefully things will settle down some and I can become a regular member of the boards again.

All my love to you...

Hey girl!

I am SOOOO glad it was just "New Mommy-ness" that was keeping you away. We were all SO worried that something terrible had happened when we hadn't heard from you! I can't wait to see pics of the twins, I bet you are just in heaven, sleep deprivation and all!

Big fat hugs to you, DH and the babies!

Thank God everything is fine. I told you you'd be madly in love with those little babes. How happy we all are for you. I'm so thrilled that you are a mom at last. You supported all of us through so much and now it's you that's the proud mommy. Many blessings to you and DH.

Lisa-
Girl...I am so glad to hear from you! I totally understand about being so busy and it being a blur!!! Wow! You are a momma! The infection is the pits-I was so very careful to keep mine clean and dry and had cellulitis in my csection incision, and it took some treating to go away. I am glad to hear that everyone is doing great! Congratulations! Can't wait to see pix!
