[font=Century Gothic][color=RoyalBlue]I have a quick question. Has anybody ever heard of having an ovary burst? This morning, I woke up to get ready for work. I prepared my clothes and then as I was getting ready to take a shower, I got a sudden and sharp pain on the lower right side of my abdomen. It made me fold over in pain. I stood there for a minute and decided that maybe a hot shower would help. It didn't. I then finished my shower and tried to get dress, but the pain was so severe and sharp. My husband came home (he works nights) and saw that I was in pain. I laid back down, hoping the pain would subside. It didn't. Needless to say, I did not make it work. DH wanted me to go to the ER, but I figured I would sleep it off. I fell back asleep clenching my abdomen and woke up later. The sharp pain ceased, but I still have a lingering twing right below my right rib cage. Does this sound like an ovary bursting? I haven't done anything out of the ordinary to warrant such pain...
I'm very sorry to hear you were in so much pain. If you are thinking your ovary burst I would hightail it over to your doctor immediately. Something like that is nothing to triffle with. The fact that you are feeling better now so soon makes me think that perhaps that might not be the case. Perhaps you ovulated more than one egg. I know when I did that I was in pain for the length of time you described. But either way, if I were you I would contact my doctor immediately to make sure something serious isn't going on. Let us know what happens.

Sorry to hear this....I have had an ovary burst and it was exactly as you are describing....I did go to the ER...they did an u/s and an internal to verify that was exactly what happened. They put me on pain meds and sent me on my merry way....If you are still uncomfotable I would definately call your doc, it's nothing you want to fool around with.
Good luck and I hope all turns out fine!

I ended up calling the doctor's office on friday and spoke with a nurse. She said the location of my pain could be related to my ovary or fallopian tubes. She asked me if I was running a temp or had any nausea, but I don't. She scheduled an appointment for me on Monday afternoon to just make sure it's nothing serious. I still have my pain, but it feels like my ribs and the whole general area are just sore. I'll let y'all know what happens.
That's what I was going to suggest as what might have happened. I had a 6cm cyst on my ovary and was scheduled for surgury, but it burst before the day I was to have it drained. Worst pain I've ever felt in my life...so far (I'm sure childbirth is worse ). The pain went all over my entire torso, and it turned out the fluid from the cyst had litterally gone everywhere within my torso...even up into my right shoulder, so it was painful everywhere the fluid was. I went to the ER, but they said it would just disipate on it's own. I don't know if that's what happened to you, and I know I'm a little late posting on this, but your story just made me think of that.
