Hi I tried posting in the TTC forum to introduce myself, but no replies. My name is Lori and DH and I have been ttc #1 on and off since 2001. We have been together almost 9yrs with no pregnancies. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2001 and am recently taking 1500mg of metformin daily. I have been dealing with infertility for many years. I am concentrating on losing some weight before trying again. Most likely in Novemeber we will be doing Superovulation/IUI. Has anybody here done that?

Hi Lori!! Wow, you sure have been trying for a long time! You must be so frustrated.
I have been TTC #1 since Dec. 2003. So far I have been diagnosed as "unexplained infertility." I have an appt. with my RE on Friday for bloodwork and and ultrasound and then we will proceed with treatment.
We are planning on doing IUI with injectibles starting in September. That sounds like what you will be doing in November.

Hi Molly, It's nice to meet you. I hope I get to know alot of people on this site. TTC has been very frustrating. I sure hope the fertility treatments help, because I really want to be a mommy. I am so sorry to hear that you have been TTC for so long. I hope you are able to conceive really soon. I have only been ttc for 11 mos and my infertility is caused by annovulation. I am taking 500 mg of metformin. Do you have any side effects? I am waiting to see if I ovulate on my own this month and if not we'll do clomid/iui in September??? (depending on insurance/finances) and if that doesn't work then we'll do IVF in January.

Lori-This particular board is fairly slow, but I post a lot on the 2WW board and it is pretty active. Erin and I have our own little conversation going in some of the threads here and we would love to have you join us!!
If all goes as expected with the RE on Friday then we may try Clomid until September, although I don't know how effective that will be since I ovulate regularly on my own, but I figure it is worth a try while we wait for September to get here (we will have new insurance then that covers infertility treatment up to $10K). Then we plan to do 4 cycles of iui/injectibles and hopefully one of them works. If not we want to start the adoption process in January. I still plan to do IVF in the future, but right now I just want to be a mother and adopting seems to be the only way I can guarantee that to happen. After adopting we would then do IVF. But if we are lucky the IUI's will work!
I will let you know how Friday goes.

Molly is right! We would love to have you join us! I post alot on the TTC 6mos+ board and they are a nice and supportive group. I really hope that wasn't the board that didn't respond to your intro. Alot of the girls there have been TTC a long time.
