Default Molly-Biopsy Today

HI!
Well I had my biopsy today. I suppose it went all right. It was a little more painful than I expected because (I found out) my uterus is tipped forward and so she wasn't able to easily get to my uterus. Luckily she didn't have to clamp my cervix. So now I just have to wait. They also did a blood test to check my progesterone. If I have not ovulated yet (and I don't think I have) then they will call me tomorrow to start Provera. Then I go in on CD3 for another blood test to check FSH and Insulin levels. She did tell me very briefly that the sonographer said I had a lot of little follicles from my u/s last tuesday. She said that also leads her to believe I probably have PCOS. Also, she said that if I do have PCOS I may be given the medicine Glucophage and Metformin. I don't know what either of those are so I'm here at the Library trying to find information. Oh, and I don't think they have that book you mentioned. I'm going to look harder though.
Finally, I probably won't be online again until next Sunday or Monday. We're going to be in south carolina for a wedding.
I hope your dr sends over your medical records soon!!! You've gotta get into the RE!
Oh, I read your post on the other thread about the temps. Mine have done that before and I thought it was odd too. I don't know what it means though. At least they're not going down : )
I hope this is your BFP cycle!

Glad your test went well and hope that they get you a definite answer as to what is going on and a plan to fix it!
Since my DH is a pharmacist (and diabetic) I can tell you that both glucophage and metformin are the same thing (glucophage is the brand name and metformin is the generic) and are diabetic meds. I think they help with insulin resistance. He tried them for awhile but they didn't work and made him really nauseous.
In terms of your biopsy, could you feel when they removed the piece of endometrial lining or was it just uncomfortable because your uterus is tipped? Well, at least that is over!!
I think that book I told you about is fairly new because my library just got it in stock.
I hope my temps keep going up and then maybe I can get a triphasic chart (even though that doesn't always mean PG, it is promising!).
Have fun at the wedding! Talk to you when you get back!

HI! Great news about the RE appointment! That is wonderful they could get you in so quickly! Now you can start getting some answers ; )
I think the biopsy hurt because of 2 things...1) My cervix/uterus are not in line and 2) because my uterus is tipped. So she had a hard time getting to my uterus. I felt cramping and at one point it was pretty painful but it was over fast.
I can't wait to hear how your appointment goes And your chart looks great! Maybe in a day or two you'll have a BFP!

Erin-My back is killing me so I am not counting on a BFP this month. Oh well, at least next week I can start the process of getting answers!
The reason I got in so quickly is because a new Dr. just joined the practice this week, so he doesn't have any of his own patients yet.
Did you find out the results of your progesterone blood test??

My test showed that i hadn't ovulated as of CD 22. So I started provera 6 days ago to start a new cycle. Have you ever taken provera? I wonder if I won't have AF till i take all 10 pills or if AF will come before that?...

Nope, I have never taken anything. My cycles are very regular--usually 29 days with a range of 28-30. When they did bloodwork in Dec. my progesterone level indicated that I ovulated (which they assumed I did since it would be highly unusual for someone with reg. cycles to not be Oing).
I think you should post that question and see what people who have taken it say about it.

Good Idea : ) I think I will do that.
Only 1 week from today til you see the RE! I think that is the same day that my friend from work is going too. I hope you get answers right away! Although I am still thinking optimistic for you that you won't even need the RE because you'll already have a BFP!

I hope I get answers right away, but I am not counting on it! I just have this feeling that whatever is my problem is not going to be an easy fix, don't know why I feel this way, I just do! I would love to see a BFP Friday, but my back is just hurting me so bad that I really doubt it. I think AF is knocking on my door!!

I feel the same as you ...that the problem won't be easy to fix. I don't know why, but i just do. I keep hoping that maybe all i will need is 1 pill and that will solve everything. There's also the problem of $$. I don't think our insurance will cover infertility and so there will be a limited amount of time/money we can invest. I am really hoping to get my BFP by January 2006. If not, I think we may go back to the drawing board and talk about other options (child-free/adoption)
I hope that witch stays away from you!

I forgot to tell you that I ordered a new book the other day called "A Few Good Eggs."
It is supposed to be about struggles with infertility that is also a little humorous. Goodness knows I could use a little humor about this whole situation! I will let you know if it is any good after I get it in a few days.
$$ is also a concern for me. My DH has a bit of stock that we could sell, but that would only pay for one round of IVF, if that. One good thing is that he is a pharmacist so he gets good prescription benefits, so any injectible meds would be reasonably priced for us. I hate the thought of spending all of our money of IVF and it not working and then we wouldn't have any money for adoption. Hopefully I don't get that far, but you just never know!

HI! Sorry I haven't responded in a couple days. We've been out every night with something. ...Last night it was looking for a bathing suit--YIKES! I think I tried on 15 at 3 different stores and hated them all! so tomorrow DH is going with me : )
Thanks for the suggestion on the book. I'll have to look for it! TTC is very stressful so I could use some laughs too.
Last night I was talking to DH about money and how far we can go with treatments and everything. I told him I was concerned that we may have some pretty hefty bills coming in. And then he said the nicest thing...He said that he would sell our house before we give up due to money! I was really surprised! But I just don't know how long (months) I will be able to hold up. It's all I think about now as it is and we haven't even begun treatment! Oh well. I guess it's all part of TTC. : )
Have a good Weekend!! TGIF!
