Hi Jenn!

Sorry to keep you in suspense. To be honest, I've just been too tired to post! Plus, my DH went overseas and now all his responsibilities from home are now mine on top of what I usually do.... and dr's appts.... and people calling or stopping by to make sure I'm ok.

The ultrasound went great. The twins are doing well. One still ahead of the other growth-wise. Both with very strong heartbeats. I got new pictures I was able to send with DH so he has something to look at over there. (Just haven't gotten time to post them here yet.)

I had my first real appt with the OB yesterday. Got checked out from stem to stern. The pelvic exam was a little painful. I was told I am small to medium. Me,... small. I've never been told I had a small anything! Haha He told me not to worry... these exams don't mean anything and are rarely acurate. (So I'm thinking... why do them!) He went on to tell me that he had a 4'11" woman deliver a 10lb 11oz baby. So anything can happen. I told this story to my mom. She got scared. It seems that when she was PG with her first, my brother, both of them almost died because she couldn't deliver and had an emergency c-section (this was 50 years ago). The doctors asked my father which one of them to save because they didn't think both would survive. In the end, both lived and did well... but it was touch and go for a while. The things you learn. So she wants me to make sure I tell the doctors this story and wants me to seriously consider a c-section. I assured her I was and that by nature of carrying twins, a c-section was a posibility anyway whether I wanted one or not. But enough of that!!

When I was undergoing infertility treatments, my BP started to get high due to the process and meds. I was put on a BP med. As of today, I've been told to stop it because since being PG, my BP looks normal. I go in on Friday to get re-checked. If my BP continues to do well, I will be off BP meds permanently. If my BP doesn't do well, they will switch me to something that is safer for the babies. Wish me luck!

Well, I'd better get running. Thanks for asking about me. I'll try to do better with my updates.

Take care!

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Wow, I am so excited to read your news that you are having twins! How wonderful. I couldn't get on the new boards for a while but I am finally here. Sorry to hear your DH had to go overseas. I hope he was here for a little while after you got your good news. There has been a lot of success at the over 40 board also. Some singles and some twins. Take good care of yourself and let yourself lay down and take plenty of rests.

How is you job going? I am still looking for a new position and had an interview last Wednesday for a job that sounds really great and would be no weekends. I am sure hoping I get it. I sent out thank you e:mails to 4 of the 6 people I talked to. I will hear something in the next few weeks.

Well keep in touch and I sure hope you see my post.

Hi Bilinda,

Its so good to hear from you! I'm wishing you all the best on that job you are hoping for. Its so hard nowdays to find a job that doesn't include weekends... or some kind of odd hours. Now that the world seems to be running 24/7/365, those kind of jobs are like gold! I sure hope you get it! Keep me posted!

My job is going well. Everyone has been so nice to me and telling them my big news went over well. I was so worried to tell them I was PG after just starting... but all has turned out wonderfully.

DH is doing well overseas. I hear from him occasionally. He is very busy all the time and the temps there are wiping him out, but he sounds good. I look forward to having him back home soon. Should be another couple weeks or so. We are over the hump. Just wish I knew the exact day/time he was returning, but they are keeping that hush hush right now. Thats the military for you. But its for a reason. Its for their protection. Wouldn't want a terrorist getting the info and having something happen on their return home. So I'm ok with it.

I'm doing well. I will be hitting my 12th week tomorrow! Been feeling well other than the morning sickness and fatigue. I just wish I could keep my breakfast down! LOL But I'm not complaining! Really I'm not! Not after the incredible wait to get here. I wear my green complexion like a badge of honor!!

I go to the OB this Thursday for my glucose tolerance test. Because of twins, my OB has this done at 12 weeks and 24 weeks. Wish me luck!

It was so good to hear from you Bilinda! Keep in touch. I don't post here much anymore, but I do lurk from time to time.

Hi Lisa,

How did your glucose tolerance test go? I hope it turned out fine so you can eat whatever you want. Funny how different doctors are. I never had a pelvic exam the whole time I was pregnant. The doctors felt it was better not to do that. I still haven't heard anything about the job yet but I am not surprised. It usually takes them a couple of weeks to make an offer. I still am hopeful though.

DH is flying tonight but will be home later. He is picking up a lady and her dog and 2 cats north of here. That should be interesting in a small plane (4 seater). I hope the animals don't freak out or anything.

How far along are you again and are you going to find out the sex of the babies before they are born?

Hi Bilinda!

I just posted about my OB visit. But yes, the glucose test went super well! Everything is AOK! Now I won't have to worry about it again until week 24. I'm currently 12 weeks. We do want to find out the gender of the babies. I'm hoping my next appt at the end of August will give us that information. Plus, DH will be back from overseas and we can find out together. I can't wait! I just want to know if I'll be decorating a nursery for 2 boys, 2 girls or one of each!

Sounds like your DH will be having an interesting flight. I hope you'll let me know how it all went with so many animals and a small plane.

Sorry to hear you haven't gotten word on that job yet. I know how frustrating that can be. I hope they let you know soon that you got the job! I'm thinking positive thoughts for you girlie! As always... Keep me posted on that!

Hi Lisa,

I am so happy to see your glucose test went perfectly. That is wonderful news. DH's flight with the animals went well. They almost didn't go because the lady was afraid it might be to bumpy that day but it all worked out. She is an interesting person to say the least. She has lots of money from a trust fund but it seems no real purpose in life. I don't think she works at all, just buys stuff and travels. I know to most people that would sound wonderful but I think she is lonely and unhappy a lot of the time. I don't think she is married.

Thanks for the positive thoughts on that other job. I sure hope to hear something next week. It would be a big boost to my esteem also if I got the job. Seems like after a few interviews and not getting the job, I start to wonder what is wrong or why didn't they pick me. I just have to tell myself that this is good practice (interviewing) and the right job will come along soon.

I am so happy to hear your DH will be back when you have the ultrasound to find out the babies sexes. That will be a very special day for the both of you.

Today we take the horses to a small horse show near by. Brian has been doing barrel racing and doing ok with it. Some of the younger guys are really fast but Brian is getting better. The girls haven't competed yet but want to in the future. This is a new thing for the horse so we want him to be real comfortable there before the girls show. If fact the youngest DD fell off him in the arena duriing practice time two weeks ago but didn't get hurt thankfully. That scared me. She had her helmet on which was a good thing because she fell on her back.

Hi Bilinda,

I know what you mean about wondering after so many interviews what was wrong and why they didn't pick you. I went through the same things. But try not to take it too personally. Its just tough out there. Lots of folks unemployed or unhappy with their current jobs competing for the same as you are. I almost believe its a numbers game. Just keep plugging and eventually the right one will come up. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

That woman you spoke of with all the money but no purpose in life... that sounds so sad. At first I was like, must be great to have that problem (money) but when I read on more I'd say I'm very content in the life I lead. Very greatful for the many blessings I have. Which means more than money and globe traveling. Still... wouldn't hurt if we could have both!

Hope everything went well with the horse show. I look forward to hearing how the horse took to his first experience with it. Good idea to get him comfortable with it before your girls get into it. That must have been so scary to see your daughter fall like that. I'm glad to hear she wasn't hurt. And good she had her helmet on.

Looking forward to hearing how yesterday went. Take care and have a great rest of the weekend!!!
