Eric was off today so we took the boys apple picking. I am not sure who had more fun -- DH and me or the twins! I was thrilled because we had the entire orchard to ourselves and so we all wandered around and picked what we wanted. The boys liked picking apples, but they also enjoyed sitting ON TOP of all the apples we picked or picking up rotting fruit off the ground. Eric took lots of pictures as Connor and Aaron yanked apples off the trees and walked around pointing and saying, "Apple, apple." It was really a fun thing. We were having so much fun that we ended up picking --- ARE YOU READY FOR THIS -- 62 pounds of apples. Yup, you read that right -- 62 lbs. I guess I won't need to buy any fruit for awhile. Eric suggested I whip up some pies (um, in my spare time, perhaps?? ) The four of us ate apples and cider donuts on the way home in the car. Anyway it was a lot of fun and for those of you expecting babies (like Lisa1021) in a couple of years, you'll be doing this fun stuff with maniac toddlers.

Oh Karen! I loved reading your post. It put such a huge smile on my face. I could just envision your adorable little tykes in the apple orchard. What fun! I can't wait to do that with our little ones that are on the way. Thanks for a wonderful glimpse into the future. Fall is my absolute favorite season.

Wow! 62 lbs of apples! Apple pie, apple crumb cake, apple sauce, apple pancakes, apple spice breads.... you better get busy girl!!!
