Infertility Drugs

Well, my husband and I have been trying for about 6 or 7 months and I am 32 years old. I have charted and taken ovulation tests some of that time. The last time I went to my dr. a couple of months ago he mentioned drugs like clomid and I freaked out. Then it didn't happen and it seems I am not ovulating. So I said "Put me on drugs." Well, he has prescribed Clomid, Estradiol and Prochieve. Is this a little much for right away? I am fine with Clomid and Estradiol but the Prochieve is pricey and I just don't know if I want to go that extreme yet.
Any advice would be appreciated...
Should I just take the clomid (would that be horrible for a first step) - If so should I just call the dr. and tell him.
